@worillessg It’s ok to DNF any book that you’re not vibing with. I choose to not read the classics as they don’t interest me.

Fastest way to go broke?

I finished this last night, and have mixed thoughts. For it being 281 pages I didn't fully grasp the storyline. I get that it was a Little Mermaid retelling, but I just don't know. This really felt like the plot was secondary to the steam in a way.

Okay time to go read Devilish Debt by Xavier Neal. I have an arc of it, and am curious how the story will go as I know next to nothing about the premise. I do know it is a dark MMF age-gap romance. So should be enjoyable.

@omgsidewalks The overhead light is not enjoyable. I prefer a lamp. Overhead goes on only when absolutely needed.

if you find your neurodivergent person in a dark room do not turn on the lights WHILE ASKING "why are you in the dark?" we are not lost bats. we actually know how light switches work. we can even answer questions if you give us a minute.

@raventykit It's okay to DNF an ARC. If you're not feeling the book it's better to just stop, mark it as a DNF and move on. I find that if I force myself to finish a book I'm not enjoying that a reading slump will occur. Just brings down the excitement.

made the mistake of requesting an arc from an author I had previously dnf'd... I'm bored out of my mind and I still have 80% of the book left💀

@fairyivers Fave that I've read this year would be the Sutter Lake series by Catherine Cowles. Catherine Cowles always pulls me into the worlds she creates and I fall easily for the characters. Plus there's a bit of suspense added in.
