Breathing space for parents. Better life chances for children. More money in your pocket. That's what free breakfast clubs mean for families across the country. That's what Labour's Plan for Change is delivering.

Mixed feelings about leaving IES which I have absolutely loved and has given me the opportunity to do work I've really enjoyed and with some great people. But I am also really looking forward to the new role in DWP - can't wait to get started!

We’re excited to see plans for much-needed extra early education places. We look forward to working with the government to help make this ambition of boosting life chances for children and improving work choices for parents a reality.

1) Great to be part of this Commission. Takeaways from launch - compliance culture eg requiring people to spend 35 hours a week on job seeking or work related activity should end. No evidence for it. Instead a new offer of employment support.

New research finds England is worse than peers for childcare availability. Parents in deprived areas and outside London fare worst. This isn't an accident but design: the poorest children are ineligible for 'free hours' so nurseries don't serve them. itv.com/news/2024-09-1…

Good Morning & Happy Employability Day! The ninth annual employability day! Today's theme is ‘Employment Support for Every Citizen’. Despite our huge strides as a sector, millions of people still want support to find work but can’t access it. #empday24
