@revenant_MMXX @MarkSmi70354099 The life hack is to have enough children that they become their own little pod (or pair off together) and entertain themselves most of the day. This is basically how kids grew up for all of human history: without constant parental attention and doting and fussing.

Stay-at-home moms easily have more free time than anyone who works a full-time job and it's not even close. Kids play independently, they nap, they aren't nearly as much work as Big Mom pretends they are.
Happy A Heathen@LucyferLoo

@revenant_MMXX No. Men should raise their own children. Make them quit their jobs, give up their hobbies and ambitions. They are parents too, right?

@revenant_MMXX LOL! I had two sets of twins and a singleton and 4 out of 5 are autistic, but do go on with that nonsense. 🤣

@collinstimbela_ We have a solid safety plan now that has made it safe for his son to be here. I love his son too- but I have been in a situation where my love for someone led me to accept violent behavior. His son can learn to not use violence but it won’t happen when it’s excused.

@collinstimbela_ silent. I had never had that with my partner of 2.5 years. I was backing down the second he became defensive and it made it impossible to feel safe at all. It was devastating. We eventually resolved it but only after I completely lost my shit and planned to break up… 🧵

If your wife can’t bring up something difficult without you getting defensive, you’re showing her silence is safer than honesty. And that’s how you become roommates.

Can you relate to this? Bitterness and resentment don’t appear overnight. They build slowly, over time, when someone feels consistently dismissed or unheard. It starts with small things: requests brushed off, feelings minimized, vulnerability met with defensiveness, avoidance, or denial. When her needs are treated as inconveniences rather than priorities, the hurt accumulates. Over months or years, she begins to protect her heart from repeated disappointment and disrespect. In inner work, this pattern is often tied to the Wound of Violation—the deep injury that forms when someone is repeatedly ignored, disrespected, or emotionally invalidated. The nervous system adapts: anger becomes a shield, distance becomes safety. What you see on the surface is her sharp tone, her guarded attitude, her emotional withdrawal. What you don’t see is the long, quiet buildup of moments that taught her softness wasn’t safe. If you want her to soften again, don’t criticize her anger or demand she “let it go.” Instead, focus on rebuilding trust and safety. That looks like: • Listening without getting defensive • Taking her needs and feelings seriously • Following through on what you say you’ll do • Creating intentional connection—even when it’s inconvenient • Supporting what matters to her, even if it’s not your preference • Repairing ruptures after conflict with sincerity and consistency Bitterness is a form of protection, not a character flaw. Protection only melts when safety is genuinely felt again. Make her feel seen, respected, and valued—not just once, but consistently over time. That’s the path back to softness. via The Yoga Couple If your happiness is someone else’s full-time job, are you in a relationship… or hiring a therapist? @shadowhacker27 @eMTBrides 🤣 my ex had this mindset and 3 years after I left his abusive and violent ass, he’s still alone. I found someone better who adores me and treats me like he actually likes me 6 months later.

@JunusAnna @KahunaSmooth @eMTBrides Isn’t it funny how he expects women to get over being treated like crap because she’s responsible for her own emotions- but she’s also supposed to make sure he doesn’t feel rejected or horny because she is also responsible for his emotions?

@eMTBrides And sure enough, there are men on this thread that figure he can treat her like crap all day every day and she's in the wrong for not wanting sex.

@GilberteDSL I work around family time. I do lashes when kids are asleep, I watch what I eat and try not to stop moving/sit down (don’t need to try hard I have 2 under 2). I blow dry and style my hair a few times a week when they’re asleep and my nails are done when my husband can watch them.

Putting yourself last strongly correlates with getting out of shape btw. I’ve met a lot of self-sacrificing mothers, and you would NOT like the way most of them look

@GilberteDSL That was me for most of my life as a mother. I got my shit together at 40 and I’m way hotter and happier at 46 than I was at 36!

@K8T1144 @LauraLoomer @TuscaloosaSEC It is a common problem. Why cause your child such discomfort? I refused to even take my babies on multi hour car trips because it's not good for them

Is there anything worse than a crying baby on a plane? I wish parents would control their children. It’s so disruptive. I refuse to believe a baby cries for 10 hours. At some point this is just bad parenting, right?

@LauraLoomer @TuscaloosaSEC Babies can teeth, have problems with their ears, colic. Trust me the parents aren’t enjoying themselves either. Man will these comments come back to bite you in the ass when yr a parent.

@LauraLoomer @TuscaloosaSEC I have an amazing 18 year old who once cried for so long that her throat actually bled. She was just a very angry baby and was often inconsolable. She’s incredibly intelligent so I wonder if she was frustrated that she couldn’t talk like the rest of us yet.

@TuscaloosaSEC Not yet. But I can’t believe a baby has been crying for 10 hours. Doesn’t seem normal. 1 hour, maybe. But 10? Wow. Unbearable.

@dovidfeldman So far so good- but we did end up needing to have a fight, which was terrifying for me as a survivor of DV. I broke my vow to never fight again, but I had to get really upset for him to realize how serious what happened was. It wasn’t like fighting with my ex, so that’s good. 👍

What are you willing to give up in order to have a happy marriage? What fights are you willing to forgo, and what needs of yours are you willing to let go of? Because a happy "us" requires the breaking down of "me." 🙏💚
