@mrpyo1 Y'all are so weird. Console is just a box that plays all the same games as other hardware's. Locking games behind a $600 Pay wall is stupid and hurts consumers and devs alike. Y'all will cry about $80 games but then go spend $600 to play the same $80 game elsewhere.

Here is something crazy with Xbox. They own so many studios if they decided to make all their first party game 100% exclusive to XBOX they would make the Xbox the most wanted console today?

@GamerUPGaming @Chris_Dring I agree but Xbox has also positioned itself to not solely rely on just hardware in previous generations hardware was the end all be all but that’s not the case anymore. Apple and Google are among one of the biggest gaming companies on the planet and they don’t have a console

@Lawrence_Akwa @Chris_Dring I am talking about hardware, not services, xbox hardware is declining fast, nobody cant deny that, they became a huge publisher of games, but hardware is clearly failing

Apparently a line I said in my podcast has been picked up. It was the one around some publishers/developers being baffled by Xbox’s strategy of putting games on PS5, and questioning why they’d support Xbox if they’re not going to grow the console. Three things to clarify: 1. Xbox’s third-party support is stronger than ever. You can see that through Game Pass deals, relationships with Square, Sega etc… There's no evidence at all of people walking away from Xbox (quite the opposite) 2. This part of the podcast was really to point out the transitional challenge Xbox has in keeping publishers happy with the Xbox console, while pushing their multi-format strategy. I don’t believe for a second we’re going to see many companies (if any) move away from Xbox, despite what a few might be grumbling in private. The whole industry strategy is multi-platform. 3. Ultimately, I believe Xbox’s strategy is great. It’s just there's a transitonal challenge they need to manage. But they can do it. Xbox + Game Pass is still one of the best value deals you can get in video games.

@GamerUPGaming @Chris_Dring Every CEO has said that the console market isn’t growing and hasn’t in the past 20yrs. Yeah Xbox is last place in the consoles space but arguably one of the biggest publishers, top in PC, mobile, cloud and subscription seems they’ll be just fine. Devs need Xbox going forward.

@Chris_Dring Some people keep repeating (like you) that companies arent moving away from xbox "quite the opposite" bjt my doubt is long term? Xbox Series isnt going beyond 40 million this gen probably, next gen how much ? 20m? 25m? At what point Xbox as hardware becomes irrelevant for devs?

@The_CrapGamer So you are saying developers and publishers will go ahead and damage their good will towards arguably the biggest publishing arm, leader in cloud, PC, mobile and subscription in a space where every CEO says doesn’t grow? You fanboys will believe everything.

@UniDaSensei Okay sure, seems like a really stupid idea to walk away from arguably the biggest publishing arm, leader in subscription, PC, mobile and cloud in a space where every CEO says there’s no growth…lol.

@Septic_Sauce This makes no real sense cuz the thought of Devs excluding arguably the biggest publishing arm today with a presence on consoles, PC, mobile, cloud and subscription seems like sabotage to me. Yeah Xbox consoles might be last in consoles but they arguably ahead everywhere else.

Does this surprise anyone? The value proposition of the console has dropped significantly and unless Xbox does something drastic re: it's future consoles, publishers and devs will care less and less. I mean MS themselves treat consoles as less of a priority. Edit - NVM it's Chris Dring and not one real source has been provided. Still the underlying point re: value proposition remains.

@JAAY_ROCK_ When next generation starts and those who have been playing Xbox on their PS have to make a decision between $500 plus machines I think the value proposition changes when one platform requires $70 on all games and the other includes most games with a subscription.
