@lazofficial @hbomax have for the episode. Don’t get me wrong, he still got beat up pretty good in that trial even in the story, but he wasn’t a gigantic incompetent in the fight as the show made him look. I’m guessing they did that in service of the multi season development arc he’ll be on.

@lazofficial @hbomax In the novellas he was a better fighter even in book one than the show depicted. He was terrible when mounted, but he was still pretty sharp on his feet even at that point in his arc. The show kinda nerfed him some in that battle sequence, it’s really the only bit of criticism I
