@Tomahawk_UK I think the meta was a huge success as a cup for testing players but maybe not so much as an entertaining competition and spectacle for a larger audience watching a regional on twitch

I’ve not played this meta a huge amount myself, but from watching LAIC so far, it’s clear to me that our first limited meta has been an overwhelming success 🔥
So much focus on line composition and energy management, rather than being forced into ABAs to account for random corebreakers as we’re seeing in OGL.
No surprises that when the skill ceiling rises, the usual suspects come out on top ✨
Hoping to see a variant of this meta at EUIC in a few months!

I LOVED Play! Pokémon's willingness to launch a limited meta for LAIC! However, I think we are looking at a failed experiment. While the meta is a balancing masterpiece, streamed events also need to work as television – and you just don't get there with ~12 viable Pokémon.

Right? Like I get that Mud Slap isn’t necessarily warping the Play! Meta, but it felt like rollout and slap have had too much impact on limited metas since their buffs. Rollout got nerfed so I guess 1/2?
