@LazyDevsAcademy @PocketTrap The rim lighting works akin to a normal map, but it's generated on the fly in our solution. All the work occurs inside a shader: it takes multiple texture samples in order to detect a sprite's edges, and does calculations against our also-custom light data, passed in as uniforms.

@PocketTrap We're playing Pipistrello as part of our monthly game club and we're having a blast! Thank you for the amazing work. Small gamedev question: Our community had a discussion on how the rim lighting on the characters was made. Is this a normal map or some other trick?

Decided to try porting this code to Picotron and it drops over with minimal cleanup. 1. spr() functions don't need the width/height 2. I'm using 12x12 tiles and sprites combined with vid(3) which gives us a resolution of 240x135 so anything 16 based needs to be changed to 12. That's it though
