Being a black communist constantly puts you into moments of study where the ppl you were told are evil directly advocate for the end of your oppression. Black oppression and anti communism are sister projects.

@SpiderInk456 @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi Summary is we’re all tribally defensive and we all get sucked into narrow ways of thinking from time to time, like right now we might not agree on a lot but at least we can converse and potentially each look at things differently for one and other going forward, all respect 🫡

@LazyLayman @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi I mean india is constantly getting shit for having unsanitary food but curry is a fan favorite. Even people trying food from those places think it's good. India sadly has unsanitary conditions and europe has poor land for agriculture for taste but the watermelon thing is now past

@SpiderInk456 @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi And i’d argue that relatability and race go hand in hand with media but that doesn’t mean you cannot relate to something that isn’t racially representing you, which is why i see the one way race swapping as harmful pandering, if it didn’t matter then why change it?

@LazyLayman @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi Most children stories aren't known for being culturally specific. White Americans can't totally relate to white Europeans and constantly insult eachother the same way africans and black Americans do. But it's more relatable when race isn't the most important part of a show.

@SpiderInk456 @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi Just because they don’t teach cultural significance doesn’t mean that the work isn’t culturally specific, a lot of early Disney works are based on different European folk lores from different nations, this isn’t taught but it doesn’t diminish the cultural significance they have.

@SpiderInk456 @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi The blandness comes from European crop, the main dietary sources were bread, potatoes, vegetables and meat, the land lacked spice diversity which is why a lot of white people cannot handle spice. It’s an accurate stereotype but is weaponised as an insult, both culturally based.

@LazyLayman @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi Watermelon thing came from black people selling watermelon and white people didn't want them making a profit so they labeled it as a bad thing, i know white food being bland didn't come from the same thing but it's not like the food thing applies to everything, just dinner food

@SpiderInk456 @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi Like for example i’ll use one close to home, they race swapped Anne Bolyne, the wife of King Henry the 8th, a real historical figure that was being portrayed by a black woman, the disregard for one race seeps into everything because these creators are pandering, not uplifting.

@LazyLayman @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi But whether stereotypes can be both good and harmful comes when you dont act on it. People can say "how are you asian and stupid" and "how are you black yet talk so 'proper'", it's the reason why a black person acting in a show should be treated like a person, not one vauge thing

@SpiderInk456 @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi Like the chicken and watermelon stereotype isn’t inherently wrong or bad, the same way black people talk about white people food being bland, both have accurate representation but the way you use that information is the defining factor.

@LazyLayman @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi I feel like there's a difference between generalization and stereotypes, which white people seem to use the second one. Being general is vague in a sense that it might happen but to not all and a stereotype is one pinpoint personality that is typically more harmful.

@SpiderInk456 @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi Not necessarily, English is an ethnicity, the history with us the french etc runs deep and we’re still ethnically and culturally different, black people generalise white people constantly, it’s one of the few things we seem to have in common is a shared cultural ignorance.

@LazyLayman @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi That's what im trying to say. It isn't racism in most countries it's xenophobia because every asian person is usually from asia and Europeans from europe. There's no racism it's usually just xenophobia. Black people just being "black" leaves generalization which shouldn't happen

@SpiderInk456 @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi So no justification of the knee jerk hatred at all but you can’t ignore the blatant hypocrisy of certain black people trying to appropriate characters to force their own representation in anime, bad actors muddy the waters for everyone.

@LazyLayman @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi Anime itself is a good example. Most anime characters dont look inherently Japanese or asian at all so a cosplay from a white person wouldn't be hated as much as compared to a black person who has to be reminded of their race every time they aren't cosplaying a black person

@SpiderInk456 @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi A lot of that comes from black people forcing the black label of certain characters the moment they’re shown as tanned, you have to take both sides of that into account, they’re not going to take that lightly and i agree a lot of innocent people get caught in the crossfire.

@SpiderInk456 @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi We see this already in Korea, a fantasy story based on wartime Koreans and Japanese imperialists called Gyeongsong Creature made a few years ago, pretty well received until they shat the bed in season 2, not a lot of noise regarding korean representation of Japanese characters.

@LazyLayman @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi You said that you're from england and would love to see a british character get adapted by a white man who's probably british. If people saw that a Japanese character is being adapted by a korean person they'd probably get mad because most discrimination would be xenophobia

@SpiderInk456 @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi Brother no, a lot of internal conflicts exist based on tribalism not racism sure one look at English, Irish, Scottish history of conflicts will teach you this, as will looking at Viking/French/Roman invasions of England. However this occurs in Africa also and has for a long time

@LazyLayman @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi I don't think they are but most people who live in places close to their race like europe and asia can understand. Most of the racism there is ethnic, not race so no, racism within those places are not generalizing race.

@SpiderInk456 @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi Frieren is a bad example imo, the negativity surrounding the show is ideologically based not gender or race based, sides are fighting over which retarded political ideology is being represented, not to mention anime has a tonne of black people criticising its lack of diversity.

It's just that people who hate on it are definitely a loud minority. I dont think most people who hated everyone hates chris is racist, but haters are a loud minority.

@SpiderInk456 @mpimpinn @Thepr0D80569 @BradZoe89 @Bigqadi For one LOTR being transformed racially and culturally in RoP should be racially conservative, the cultural back bone of the entire franchise is built upon rural England and culture. Harry Potter is the same due to the time period it is in and the original works cultural impact
