A family in a Byron neighbourhood was alerted to deadly carbon monoxide (CO) in their home this afternoon by a working CO alarm. Upon arrival Engine 12 (E12) had readings at the door of 28 ppm of CO. E12 crew went back to their fire engine to put on their SCBA. E12 advanced to the basement to run the furnace and hot water tank. While in the basement they had peak reading of 43 ppm of CO on their air monitors. E12 requested @enbridgegas to attend. Enbridge arrived and found an issue with furnace. E12 ventilated the entire home of the CO. #COsafety #ldnont

On Saturday, the LPS Road Safety Section conducted a RIDE program, screening 272 vehicles and administering eight roadside tests. 🚔 Two drivers received warnings, each resulting in a 7-day licence suspension. Impaired driving puts lives at risk. Make the sober choice every time you get behind the wheel. RIDE programs will continue throughout the week. Always plan ahead for a safe ride home. #DriveSober #ArriveAlive #RoadSafety
