As a former Penn State student-athlete (PSU Field Hockey, Fall ’24), I feel I have the credibility to speak on the Pat Kraft situation. I’ll never forget the day he walked into our meeting room during preseason to introduce himself … and wow, did he make an impression. Within seconds he had everyone’s full attention. He said, “Why not us? You’re going to go out there this season and win a f****** championship. Everyone else are sheep… WE ARE LIONS.” I immediately loved him. The energy, the passion, the pride. Everything he said embodies what Penn State stands for. You could tell how much he genuinely loved to win, but also how deeply he cared about us as players. He opened up about his own mental health and emphasized, “If any one of you needs anything, reach out to me directly. I want to help you. I will help you in any way I can.” And he meant it. Pat showed up to every single one of our home games and was on the sidelines every time, cheering us on, giving us fist bumps, delivering post-game speeches, etc. Long story short: Pat Kraft cares deeply about Penn State— the athletic department, the athletes, and the community. We are lucky to have someone like him as our AD. And quite frankly? That leaked audio made me love him even more. The guy just wants to WIN and do what’s best for the program. So for everyone hating on him so passionately just to fit your weird narrative, I’d rethink that. As always, We Are #PennState
