@danielcity22 @9320pod @lloyd_scragg As I said in the pod, I don’t have too much issue with ‘main character energy’. I am more troubled by the fact that the decision was wrong and that the majority of the footballing fraternity don’t see it.

@9320pod @lloyd_scragg @LeKoa Ahsan spot on about this. The penalty decision was about nothing more than main character energy. He knew no one else ever do that, and wanted to make a massive splash by being the first one to do that on his first game.

@NoisyPod Just a point of law on Foden foul. If the ball is out of play when the offence occurs, a penalty cannot be awarded. VAR must have perceived, inexplicably, that it was. They can only advise on a caution if it is a possible red. Onfield ref should give a yellow minimum.

@DaleJohnsonESPN I am a referee at grass roots level. The culture in the sport that unconditional abuse of officials is fair game exists at every level. It is adopted by everyone from elite managers to children on the terraces. At its heart is sheer hypocrisy.

@NoisyPod Surprised at you trivialising the potential penalty on Bobb. IMO it was a clear foul but the referee chose to play advantage. There isn’t a law, but you never play advantage in the 18 yard box (either way) in order to avoid controversy.
