Yeah he pretty much completed club football in every way like 3 years into his European career and no one had any idea what to do with him after that

The funny thing is if Neymar’s career was reversed I.e. he started slower and won the Libertadores and the end, he would be rated way more Recency bias punishes legacy

I agree he can’t make a greatest players of all time list, because that requires you to win silverware. But he’s by far the third best player of this generation, so don’t disrespect him

But ultimately they did (plus Messi had an elite copa that year anyway bar the final). But if the best neymar argument is that he *could* have won one tournament, its not good enough

Neymar didn’t even score in the final of CA when he lost to Argentina, but they were there because of him,and in that game he was by far the best player, he showed up, but that’s not enough, it takes a great team to accomplish things

@LeSuIIy @OhSoDiligent__ @Bd_irB_ll If you see Neymar’s performance in those kind of stages, it was always like that, so yes, he showed up when it mattered the most for his team, and did put them in position to win and advance. In 2018 Hazard did a similar thing for Belgium, but that team was a lot better.

He was the best player in the final he lost to arg, and put Brazil in a wining position on a solo effort in 2022 against Croatia, he always showed up.

technicality beats athleticism every single time. always has. brazil didn’t dominate cos they could run more, they dominated because they were levels above technically. same applies to england btw, all the physicality in the world means nothing if theres no quality on the ball
