I'm always the one to check in with old friends to see how they are. Do they ever check in with me? Nope, unless they see a post like this where they only come out of obligation. Why should I keep trying when no one else does?

Am I so unlikeable that people just answer to make me leave? Is there some inherent flaw with the way I talk to people? I try my hardest to adapt, to mould, to fit in, but it always seems like I'm the expendable one. Someone to use when no one else is available because I care.

I always end up asking everyone else how they're doing, what they're up, what they're going through. The only time I get the same is when people remember I exist. I spend so much energy making sure my "friends" are heard and none is spent on me.
