INTERNATIONAL LEAD POISONING PREVENTION WEEK 2025 From 19–25 Oct, the world focuses on a silent epidemic: lead poisoning. This year, WHO’s theme is: “No safe level: act now to end lead exposure.” The Alliance for a Lead-Free Kabwe joins the global call to end lead exposure.

The right to play is a fundamental human right which is recognised in article 31 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The realization of this right is dependent on the environment and the children of Kabwe continue to play in lead contaminated play spaces.

The new rush on minerals brings human rights risks & has already caused harm to people + planet. Colombia’s initiative at #UNEA7 is a chance to change course. With 50+ partners, we @hrw encourage Colombia to pursue its goal, a global binding rules on mineral supply chains.
