@rashmi Agree 💯 for my teens but it would be great for my young adult that cant drive on her own yet due to 6 month restriction after each seizure & wants the autonomy. We don’t live with near public transportation and no Lyft/Uber in the area so Waymo would be great for accessibility.

Driving around with your kid, hearing them chatter about their day / listening to music together / stopping for boba - it's one of the best parts of parenting. Not handing that over to a waymo

I think Waymo is going to bail parents out of chauffeur culture. I talk to so many people with older kids and they just seem dead with driving their kids places. I think in five years you’re gonna be able to put Bobby in a Waymo to his guitar lesson and Sally in a Waymo to her soccer practice and Mom and Dad get to listen to Steely Dan and chill. If this happens all of tech will be forgiven for our sins.

@rashmi That’s very interesting. It’s great to have options but understand how too many could be overwhelming. My Co-Director just returned from a training in Portland with Peace in Schools. I was curious because they piloted the program with teacher on the West Coast.

Its the opposite here. Feel like we are swimming in a sea of choices. The parents group is a buzz of activity. I do hear that from 10th grade, the kids are able to handle on their own. I did not see any mindfulness studies, but its possible to do electives at local community college (as long as school signs off). So one could do find a course and take for credit (that's how he is planning to do Hindi for his world language)

My busiest Whats App group right now is the one for incoming 9th grade parents for my son's public school. All the parents stressing out to help their kids choose their classes! So many choices, it makes my head hurt. In India, when it was time for 9th grade, there was hardly any choice. And my parents were blissfully unaware.

Today is #NationalPatientAdvocacyDay. Patient advocates are often a parent who has endured the most unbearable loss, a family member who has watched a loved one suffer, or a patient determined that no one else should go through what they have. We owe so much to these advocates who work day and night to drive change. They are the reason for increased funding, new policies, programs, and awareness. Yet they also carry the greatest burden of pain and suffering themselves. There is no greater power than turning pain into advocacy. Their courage is what lights the path forward and today we honor them for that.

Sobi announced it has submitted to FDA a supplemental (sBLA) for Gamifant (emapalumab-Izsg) for use in adult & kids w/ hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH)/macrophage activation syndrome (MAS) in Still’s disease with an inadequate response glucocorticoids, or with recurrent MAS.
