Welcomed Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, @HennaVirkkunen, alongside Prime Minister @RobertAbela_MT and Ministers @SilvioSchembri and @byroncamilleri. Our discussion focused on strengthening Europe’s digital competitiveness, safeguarding critical infrastructure, and ensuring resilient connectivity—priorities of particular importance for Malta as an island Member State.

Honoured Malta is first in the EU to have IMF Article IV surveillance moved to a 24-month cycle from a 12-month one. This testifies our economic success and IMF's trust in our policy direction. I also welcome IMF's conclusion that we can deliver on Malta Vision 2050. - RA

Had a truly inspiring exchange with Mr Koen Lenaerts, the President of the Court of Justice of the @europeanunion. In the face of legal and institutional challenges, the Court's contribution to safeguarding the legal order has never been more indispensable. - RA

Had a good call with Ukraine’s DPM @TarasKachka on Ukraine’s EU accession path. Commended progress on key reforms, reaffirmed Malta’s strong support for Ukraine’s membership, and underlined the importance of a merit-based process and EU unity moving forward.

While global uncertainty is on the rise, Fitch Ratings confirm our country as an A+ economy and state “Malta has one of the strongest growth performances among Fitch rated sovereigns”. Prosperity and stability remain our focus. - RA

Late last night, I welcomed @EUCouncil President-elect @antoniolscosta to #Malta, ahead of important talks with @MaltaGov @RobertAbela_MT in #Valletta today. We look forward to extend our collaboration in implementing the EU Strategic Agenda in coming years.

Yet again the @EU_Commission revised upwards its economic forecast for Malta. At 5% this year we will again have the highest growth among all countries, more than five times the EU average. Inflation and unemployment will both continue to decline. - RA

At #CHOGM2024 @commonwealthsec in Samoa, I have just been chosen to Chair the Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group #CMAG for the next two years. Malta accepted an invitation to continue serving as one of CMAG’s nine members for its third consecutive year.

During the MED9 Summit in 🇨🇾 we engaged in productive dialogue and discussed key issues, common challenges and opportunities within the MED region. 🇲🇹 looks forward to working together with the new European Commissioner for the region to continue tackling these key issues. - RA

I welcome today’s annulment of the controversial, market-distorting Mobility Package obligation that required transport vehicles to return to their home base every eight weeks, by the ECJ’s landmark ruling this morning. Malta will keep calling for a fair and competitive haulage market, enhancing connectivity across all 27 EU Member States - today shows that call is justified 💪🇲🇹🇪🇺
