@DrBradJohnson They are very different professions. I am a strong teacher, 29 years. I lead on many capacities. Not one ounce of me wants to be an administrator. It’s unfortunate that the pay makes many leave the classroom.

Teachers who choose to stay in the classroom over moving to administration are leaders too! Honor their choice, dedication, & professionalism. Effective leaders actually embrace this choice and leverage their talents and expertise to benefit the whole school.

@JayWamsted I was teaching 2nd grade. My 1 yr old daughter was across the city. I wanted to go to her. Then I saw the faces of 20 babies sitting in front of me. I went into mama bear mode.

Who out there was already teaching in 2001 when the twin towers fell? I was a tutor at the time, so I slept through the whole thing. Didn't even have a TV or a decent phone so I found out late in the afternoon. I can't imagine being in front of a classroom at the time.

My amazing Dad died ...5 days into the Summer Holiday. I've done nothing...no prep for the new term, no planning etc. Now in a huge panic
