Too often, students of color are asked to put their experiences on the back burner in the name of "clinically/academically succeeding." This message often translates to "your perspective isn't important enough." #2020LCI

The audience asked how we can create supportive cultures for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The short answer: acknowledgement. We must value diverse identities/experiences instead of expecting students to "leave it at the door" when they enter medical school. #2020LCI
