Why do these train guys not understand that the data centers are being built in Red states with localities that fast track permitting while the HSR project is in a blue state notoriously bad at permitting and known for extracting as much out of projects to maximize payouts to contractors.

When the Roman Mass was translated from Greek into Latin in the 4th century, they decided NOT to translate the ninefold “Kyrie eleison” (Lord have mercy) into Latin but to keep it as Greek. Same for Aramaic/Hebrew words like Sabaoth and Amen. These were intentional “language anchors.” I think the same argument could be made for the Novus Ordo. The Kyrie should stay Greek. Gloria, Pater Noster, Agnus Dei etc should stay Latin. This is clearly the intention of the Fathers at Vatican 2. Agree or disagree? PS: My personal preference is pre-1951 Roman Rite in Latin with established “language anchors” (e.g., Greek Kyrie).

We talk about it a good amount. keeper.ai/posts/the-keep… The strategy is to start upmarket like the tesla roadster and use that money for r&d, scale high-quality matchmaking and drive the price down as we go. We are getting close to being able to drop the price an order of magnitude.

We bought a park-like farm and worked with a town planning firm called TPUDC to create a plan for a mixed use walkable neighborhood that includes small scale agriculture and encourages family entrepreneurship. The idea was to develop a property in the middle of urban sprawl as a neighborhood hub with cafes and little shops to end isolation and build a creative multigenerational vision, with an innovative education center at its core. If not for my vision, the land would be turned into a typical subdivision. The existing neighbors hated the plan and vowed to fight it. The project is on hold, but I think it’s worth completing…

So far as I can tell, every major complaint about data centers would apply equally to any heavy industrial or manufacturing facility. They use land. There is noise. They use water and electricity. There are some environmental effects. But there are rarely widespread protests.

I asked Grok to explain the tax breaks he's talking about here and it made me sick. The worst was the sales tax incentive. If they spend 750 million up front they get waivers for 50 years likely totally billions. People doing this are stupid or crooked, probably both.

Big tech are the biggest pushers of DEI. Most of the CEOs are now Indians who only hire and promote fellow Indians. Data centers will never allow "Rule by white man" much less the American "Ruled by no one." These datacenter pushers are either lying or stupid, probably both.

Build data centers in already industrial zones, not residential areas. Watch opposition decrease. They could do that but they don't want to spend extra $$$ for the land. 100 trillion dollar industry but they're pinching pennies.
