@desireemav I’m very Tswana. Mokgatla from Manamakgoteng, Moruleng. Was born in Oukasie, Brits. But moved to Moruleng at 7. Majority of my immediate relatives are in Brits and Pretoria.

This is so embarrassing. I haven’t been to North West with relatives in a few years. My aunt calls me tonight after seeing my WhatsApp status. I’m trying not to speak English so I’m in vernac mode but I keep adding Zulu/Xhosa words because now I have to think of some SeTswana words when I speak. 🤦🏾‍♂️ I rarely have anyone to speak my language with in JHB. My friends are predominantly Xhosa and Zulu here.

This year, people have lost their jobs, lost their parents, spent their life in hospitals and dealt with a dwindling economy. It is OK to have achieved nothing of great significance this year. Just maintaining sanity in itself IS an achievement. Congratulations!!!
