I’m intrigued by what USC is doing right now in the portal. Late additions. FCS linebackers. It immediately takes me back to Lofa Tatupu coming out of Maine and becoming a force at USC. Don’t get it twisted just because it says FCS doesn’t mean it’s small-time talent. This feels like the Indiana blueprint. They weren’t afraid to pull from James Madison and other FCS programs, and those guys came in mature, developed, and ready to compete.

NATA is deeply troubled by a recent social media post that publicly demeaned an athletic trainer while she was providing medical care during competition. Athletic trainers are licensed health care professionals, and disrespect or harassment toward anyone delivering care is unacceptable. Athletic trainers work in high-pressure environments where patient safety, clinical judgment and professional trust must come first. Nearly 60% of NATA’s membership is represented by women, who have fought for decades to earn their place in professional sports medicine. NATA stands firmly behind athletic trainers and all medical professionals who provide care with integrity, expertise, and compassion. We must, and can, do better.

Organizations screw up their culture by trying to make everyone feel good. It is not culture’s job to babysit people’s feelings. Culture’s job is to demand and drive specific behavior standards required to execute a strategy and produce desired results.
