@AaronConvey1 Both feet have to be in the small square now, when the ball is kicked and it looks like his left foot was on the line

Than giving all within his span
Giving all, it seems to me
Is not so far from victory

Accompanied by the President of Defence Forces Soccer, Brigadier General Kevin Campion, Former Republic of Ireland Soccer Manager Brian Kerr awarded International Soccer Caps to the Defence Forces Women's and Men's Soccer teams to cover performances from 2022 and 2023. A total of 72 Caps were awarded, 12 in "absentia" due to the players currently deployed overseas with UNIFIL in Lebanon. This event recognised the outstanding achievements of our soccer teams who have proudly represented Ireland in various international competitions, including recent World Cup tournaments hosted by the International Military Sports Council (CISM).
The aim of Defence Forces Soccer is to promote & develop the game within and outside the Defence Forces and to represent Ireland in International competitions at home & abroad in order to support the community we serve & encourage service in the Defence Forces.
Speaking at the event Brigadier General Campion said "the evening is a culmination of huge efforts invested over the last few years and everybody involved from players, coaches, management and backroom staff should be very proud of your achievements" He also credited all involved in Defence Forces soccer for their work in their clubs and communities to promote the game amongst those we serve.
Presenting the International Caps, Brian Kerr outlined the relationship fostered with Defence Forces soccer over many decades recalling access to military facilities and training grounds for Clubs who didn't have their own. He also highlighted the significant achievement it is to receive international recognition "No matter what else happens in your life, you as a player have been awarded this cap, this accolade, and you should be very proud. In years to come, you'll cherish your time as a soccer player and you'll look at the cap you're receiving here this evening and remember the good times, the friends, the games and maybe the goals"
Upcoming fixtures include a game V the French Armed forces in October for the men's team and a joint fixture in November for both men and women's team against the UK Armed Forces.

If I'm lucky enough to see my wee Jack play football and he fists the ball over the bar from there, he'll not be welcome home for dinner. Corner forward at that is disgusting behaviour.
