The City of Lee's Summit will test the outdoor warning sirens today at 1100 a.m. Outdoor warning sirens are NOT intended to be heard indoors. The best method of notification indoors is an NOAA All Hazard Weather Radio.

The City of Lee’s Summit will test its Outdoor Warning Sirens on Friday, September 18, at 11:00 a.m., weather permitting. Due to recent maintenance and radio upgrades, it is necessary to test the system on a day other than the first Wednesday of the month at 11:00 a.m.

Our firefighters are safe! Pumper 5 encountered icy road conditions on SW Ward Rd & rolled onto its side. No injuries & no other vehicles involved. Pumper 5 was returning to Station 5 on 150 Hwy after providing coverage at another station that was out fighting a structure fire.

Getting there late is better than not getting there at all...Turn around, don't drown!

There have been several inquiries if the days for the legal discharge of fireworks will be extended in the City of Lee's Summit, due to yesterday's rain. The ordinance only allows for the use of fireworks on July, 2,3, and 4. The use of fireworks on any other day is prohibited.

In the City of Lee’s Summit, residents with a city permit may shoot approved fireworks on July 2 and 3 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 11 p.m., and on July 4th between the hours of 10 a.m. and midnight. Please be courteous and safe this Fourth of July!
