@JamesWathland I think most fans hate AG because he played for Everton. But apart from that, he is HG and more EPL proven. Barcola seems a bit light weight.

@LFCTransferRoom @_pauljoyce 1 winger cannot play all 60+ games at high level and ideally we need 1 more and a CDM. However, once our wingers improved our offense, the demand of CDM would become lower as we can score more goals than conceding.

🚨✅ 𝗡𝗘𝗪 - @_pauljoyce: Liverpool are expected to prioritise signing at least one winger this summer following Mohamed Salah’s departure. Anthony Gordon’s ability to play across the front line is admired internally, while RB Leipzig talent Yan Diomande remains high on Liverpool’s shortlist ahead of a crucial summer window.

@AnfieldWatch Diomande! He has the size and the muscle to survive EPL and Barcola is a bit light weight. One of our current issue is we cannot hold up play, Diomande should solve the problem.

@Stunner_Lfc I think we need 2 wingers and If Yan is the big money signing, Bowen would be a economical addition to the squad. Then we can spend the rest of the budget on other positions.

@LiverpoolNowHQ Fans tend to forget when other teams play Bournemouth, they don't park buses. I am not sure Iraola knows how to crack low block teams.

🚨𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐢 𝐈𝐫𝐚𝐨𝐥𝐚 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐅𝐂 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 If Liverpool decide to move on from Arne Slot and appoint Andoni Iraola as the next manager, I honestly don’t think it would be the right decision. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of the coach himself. I love the style of football he plays, and what he’s done with Bournemouth has been genuinely impressive. But managing Bournemouth and managing Liverpool are two completely different levels of pressure. At Bournemouth, you’re playing once a week with far less expectation. At Liverpool, you’re expected to compete every single season while playing three times a week across multiple competitions. The pressure, scrutiny and demands are on another level entirely. My biggest concern is that Iraola hasn’t won major trophies yet and he also isn’t a huge name in world football. That matters when you’re trying to manage elite players and strong personalities in a dressing room full of international stars. Eventually every manager faces difficult moments, and when that happens you need someone who instantly commands respect. Liverpool need a manager the players naturally look up to, someone they almost admire before even stepping into the dressing room. A manager with trophies on his résumé or someone who was an elite-level player during their career. That instant respect is important, especially in the situation Liverpool are currently in. And that’s another key point. This isn’t a stable environment. It’s a high-pressure and toxic situation right now where fans will accept nothing less than competing for trophies immediately next season. I also think people underestimate how different it is managing an underdog side compared to managing one of the biggest clubs in world football. At Bournemouth, overachieving earns you praise. At Liverpool, even a draw can become a crisis. Every press conference, every team selection and every bad result becomes global news instantly. Not every good coach is built to handle that level of pressure. Another thing is that Liverpool are not in a position to gamble right now. This squad is entering a huge transitional period with key player futures uncertain, major transfer decisions needing to be made and expectations from the ownership and fans still incredibly high. This next manager has to stabilise the club immediately while also competing for trophies. That’s an almost impossible task for someone still relatively inexperienced at elite level. And if we’re being completely honest, I don’t think fans would show Iraola the same patience they would show a proven elite manager. If someone like Luis Enrique struggles early on, fans will point to his achievements and trust the process longer. With Iraola, the pressure and doubts would start almost immediately, and Liverpool simply cannot afford another failed managerial appointment so soon after Slot. That’s why I think Liverpool have to go big. For me, the two standout options are Luis Enrique or Jürgen Klopp if that possibility ever became realistic again. Right now there genuinely aren’t many elite managerial options available, so Liverpool may have no choice but to aim for proven winners with elite-level authority and experience. At a club like Liverpool, tactics alone are not enough. You need aura, authority, experience and the personality to handle one of the biggest jobs in football. That’s why I just don’t think Iraola is the right appointment for where Liverpool are currently at as a football club. This next appointment could define the next era of the club. #LFC #Liverpool #ArneSlot #AndoniIraola

@WinsLFC So, all the pundits and fans had been asking for that for months and the management finally decide to do it now right after Chelsea got Alonso? I think Edwards and Hughes are equally at fault too.

🚨 Liverpool have decided NOT to continue with Arne Slot as manager for the 26/27 season. Having previously opted to give Slot more time to turn things around, the decision to sack Slot was made over the weekend following conversations with senior players. #LFC

@AnfieldSector @David_Ornstein The only logical explanation is that Edwards and Hughes want a yes man but Xabi wants more control or FSG doesn't want to pay off Slot's contract.

This is how intense the sessions were too, not the laid back nonsense we see under Slot
Anfield Edition | æ@AnfieldEdition

James Milner speaking to @PeterCrouchPod: “Even the number of sessions, I remember we played Arsenal away on a Monday night, and he [Klopp] always used to do a double [training session] after a day off in the early days. “And I think we had the day off on the Sunday, and then we had double [session] Monday, single [sessions] Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. “Travel down to London, train Monday morning before the game, and then play the game Monday night."

@SamueILFC We need intensity and dynamism in our midfield with players like Hendo and Milner. Apart from Sobo, our current midfielders are too slow and too weak to win duels. They're technically brilliant but physically weak.
