The problem with Lascaux and why I called them out a couple years ago - It’s objectively fun being an artist but pretending you have history you don’t and tricking a bunch of people into thinking you’re something you’re not is some stolen valor shit. No wonder tokenized art has delayed adoption. We just can’t escape the grifters. When people get burned, it doesn’t just leave scars on them, it spreads to the people around them. Everyone here feels it.

When someone criticises @m0dest___ , whether about money, output, or whatever else, know there's a gang of monkes ready to push back if the criticism doesn't hold up. (Half of us in cheap shoes, for the record.) But if it's fair, m0d would be the first to take it on the chin and work to put it right.
This isn't Swifties-style fanboy defence at all costs. It's that over time we've seen m0dest embody real stoic virtues: kind, fair, reasonable, thoughtful, considerate. Just know there are sharp teeth behind the smile. Don't be a hater for clicks, but criticise freely if it's valid.

on where we are / idiots and scarcity
sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but we nowhere near the comfortable part of our history yet.
digital art on the blockchain is still a knife fight in a parking lot compared to the centuries of institutional momentum traditional art has behind it. we are still tiny. still early. still mocked. still wildly underestimated, and perhaps even more misunderstood.
so no, i’m not interested in sitting quietly in a corner making scarcity-optimized pieces hoping the old world eventually validates us. fuck that.
i want this medium to win.
and winning requires force. energy. experimentation. obsession. people willing to build loud enough, weird enough, ambitiously enough that the world cannot ignore what’s happening here anymore.
that’s why i make work every day, incessantly. that’s why i build systems. games. stories. mechanics. chaos. participatory art. internet-native experiences. because every one of those things is a distribution vehicle for the medium itself. every one is another chance to pull someone deeper into this world and show them that onchain art can do things physical art never could.
i do not believe cryptoart is a phase. i think it is a new creative frontier. a new canvas. a new set of rails for how art lives and moves through humanity.
and if we want that future, we creators and collectors have to bend the world to our will. drag it into existence ourselves. nobody is coming to hand it to us.
so yeah. i’m going to keep showing up every day. exhausted or inspired. confident or terrified. i’m going to keep pushing this boulder uphill with everyone else insane enough to believe this matters.
because i would rather die swinging for the future of this medium than politely wait for permission or acceptance from a world that still doesn’t understand what’s coming.

We aren't just horsing around.
Yes, the 4 Horsemen collection will feature memes and fun, but the bigger goal is showing what can happen when people come together to create something memorable.
Shout out to @deltasauce for submitting this absolute banger.
Delta may not have a citizen left in the game, but still believed in the vision enough to contribute and be part of this collection.
That’s what this is about. Community, creativity, and leaving something behind worth remembering.

“Hot damn.” — @m0dest___ (see link below) That’s honestly the same feeling I’ve had watching this thing evolve. Between myself and @RightOnRicky_, we now have over 700 Four Horsemen submissions just between the two of us and submissions from 10 plus artists and contributors. And my favorite part? A lot of people had never made anything like this before. Some people drew. Some prompted AI for the first time. Some just threw out ideas. Some spent hours refining details and styles. Some reached out asking how MidJourney works and started experimenting completely from scratch. That’s really the main goal of this whole project. To get people creating. To get people looking deeper into Modests work, each other’s work, and whatever inspires them to make something. The only real parameter is: Make a horseman. White. Red. Black. Pale. Everything else is up to you. I know AI art catches a lot of shade online, but honestly? It’s an incredible creative tool when people approach it the right way. Especially collaboratively. Watching people who never considered themselves “artists” suddenly get excited about composition, themes, prompts, lighting, symbolism, references, textures, and storytelling has been genuinely awesome. Collectively I think we’re building something really fun that will always be tied to this strange, stressful, and emotional journey through Death & Taxes. So seriously, thank you to everyone who has submitted, experimented, asked questions, shared ideas, or just cheered the project on. I’m going to do my best to get as much of what we’ve built together minted and preserved for everyone to enjoy. And if anyone else wants to jump in: Make a horseman.
