Sidearm isn’t the problem Forcing every kid to throw the same way usually causes more issues than it solves

Most youth practices fail from lack of structure—not effort Keep kids moving, rotating, and competing That’s how real development happens

Most young pitchers aren’t “wild” They just don’t have a clear target to lock into Give them one visual spot—and their command changes fast

Late on fastballs? It’s usually not hand speed—it’s late feet.

“Keep your eye on the ball” sounds right… but it often makes hitters stiff and late Better cue: see it out of the hand, not into contact

Tee work isn’t the problem Repetitive tee work is If every rep is identical, your kid is training a one-pitch swing

Stop telling hitters “keep your eye on the ball” It actually makes young players stiff, slow, and overfocused Better cue: watch the pitcher, not the pitch That’s how you build real timing and reaction

No field, no cage, no gear… still real baseball development. Consistency beats equipment every time.

Most kids don’t fear ground balls because they’re “not good” They fear them because every rep feels like a pass or fail test Fix that and the confidence shows up fast

More coaching cues ≠ better swings. It usually just creates overthinking at the plate.

Accuracy isn’t an arm problem—it’s a consistency problem. A wall + tape fixes it fast.

That “broken-in” soft glove parents love might actually be slowing player development. Less structure = worse habits, slower hands, and inconsistent mechanics when the game speeds up. Comfort isn’t always progress.

If your kid is early on some pitches and late on others… it’s not multiple problems. It’s timing. When timing is off, everything breaks swing path, confidence, consistency Fix the rhythm… everything else follows.

Wrong grip kills power. Bad knuckle alignment = no whip, no control. They start muscling the bat. Fix the grip… the swing fixes itself.
