Hey Feno! In the nicest and most constructive way possible, you are just 99% wrong man
-but I want to explain and educate you on why that is incase you want to try and actually improve your content (instead of just blaming others on Twitter for your own mistakes).
First things first, @clash_julia_'s brand as a creator is to be as simple as possible and just play Clash Royale and chat to her viewers. That's it.
You guys are targeting 2 completely different audiences.
The types of people that watch her content are people looking to just watch a funny video where someone is just yapping about their day playing Clash Royale.
The types of people that watch your videos are Italian speaking players, who play at a top level in ranked.
When it comes to her thumbnails and titles, whether she knows it or not, she is using what's called an "anti-thumbnail/anti-title" style -which is where you make a thumbnail/title combo that is SO OPPOSITE of what someone would consider a "good thumbnail".
The reason for this is because on the YouTube Home Page, it MASSIVELY stands out because every thumbnail these days are so over edited and complex.
Let's look at Ken's channel for example:
His thumbnails are SO simple and I would guess you'd say the same thing about his thumbnails "why does he get so many views with just screenshots??"
It's the same idea for the most part. His thumbnails stand out because of how simple and "basic" looking they are.
...and then you watch a Ken video because he's a goof ball, he's funny and he's a great entertainer.
Let's take a look at your videos.
Here's the 4 things you are doing wrong:
1. Your thumbnails are just bad (to put it super honestly).
The reason they are bad are because of these things (in order of most important to least important):
- The thumbnail is far too complicated.
- The background colour doesn't make you stand out (and everything blends into the background, making the thumbnail a lot less clickable).
- You have 3 different colours of text. Why?
- Your face doesn't add value to the thumbnail (it would be better with a picture of a giant for example -because your deck is Giant Sparky).
- The thumbnail says "Top 4 in Italy". For most people, that doesn't matter (unless you're from Italy).
- You don't need the Clash Royale logo, it's obvious by the cards on the thumbnail it's Clash Royale.
2. BIG THING, your videos are in Italian.
Just a quick google search will tell you there SO MANY more English speakers than there are Italian speakers.
There is nearly 1.5 Billion English speakers in the world, but only around ~100 Million Italian speakers.
That's nearly 15x the potential audience that can watch an English video over an Italian one (now we don't know how many English players there are compared to Italian players, but I believe this explains my point).
3. Every single video is basically the exact same and nothing changes.
If I am a viewer who speaks Italian, who likes Giant Sparky, maybe you are the channel for me.
...but if I'm not one of those people, I will never click on one of your videos.
Going back to Julia's content for a second, she just plays whatever deck she wants, playing at whatever trophy range she's at because people don't care about that.
They just watch her to have fun. You guys aren't the same, so stop getting annoyed at her success because you guys are doing completely different styles of content.
4. Your videos, apart from a short intro, are just boring stream VODs.
If you played 4-5 games on top ladder, commentated over them live and had more energy -maybe people would watch for longer (helping you bring in more viewers).
If you compare this video of Julia's here:
youtube.com/watch?v=D9FCRK…
..to any one of yours, there's a huge difference in how entertaining your videos are.
Also bonus tip: It's not like there aren't other successful Italian creators out there!
Check out creators like:
- Grax (top italian creator who plays at high ultimate champion)
- CiccioGamer89
- Gigi
- DavideRooney
Everyone can be successful Feno, but if you just put others down and don't accept maybe your content isn't as good as other peoples, you won't ever grow as a creator.
Hope you learned something from this man. My biggest advice is just try and be a positive person in the community instead of coming off so hostile. I'm sure you're not a bad guy, but you just made yourself look like a butt online.
Goodluck with your content journey man 🙂👍
