Listen, I COMPLETELY understand if you feel that way. But no, listen carefully. We've been saying for YEARS that game journalists are posers who despise this hobby. Mixtape is absolute proof of that. This is a billionaire nepo project that is 3 hours long and that you don't even really "play." It was immediately astroturfed to fuck and back, called "one of the games of the generation," couldn't even bother to add a fail state or something known as "gameplay systems," includes the most quirk-ass possible millennial-hipster writing and teenagers tonguing, all presented alongside the lie that it's an "indie project." There has never been a more direct example of everything wrong with games journalism, and that's saying a lot because they gave Veilguard a 9 out of 10 while games like Black Myth Wukong and Crimson Desert are 6's & 7's. "Mixtape" is being hailed as a masterpiece and given 10's across the board while its billionaire publisher lines their pockets with cute lootboxes filled with custom gadgets and CD players. There is one reason, and one reason alone that they like it... and that's because it didn't "waste their time" by making them do something they loathe: playing a video game.

📢Hey Survivors, We want to give you an update regarding the patches planned for Update 1.29. We have decided to cancel the hotfix. This is mainly so we can take more care and caution in addressing the pressing issues you have reported. Instead, we are planning to put the patch on the Experimental branch first, beginning with Steam PC Experimental next week. This PC Experimental phase will allow us to evaluate the game's performance and stability before rolling the patch out more broadly across all platforms. It will then be followed by an Xbox version in the coming weeks, as submission timelines on the platform are currently longer than usual with the introduction of experimental versions on new platforms. The stable update will be released across all platforms, including PlayStation, at the same time. Further fixes, along with additional content, are also planned as part of the Road to Badlands update later down the line. We will continue to share updates as we go. H1Z1: Just Survive shut down on October 24, 2018... A dedicated group of fans stepped up teaching themselves how to code, reverse engineer the game, and host their own servers to bring it back to life. Today, the game is playable again. NAH IT'S 100% STREET VIBES. I'M SO DAMN IN. That little behind the back roll dribble? It looks SO much cleaner than the last footage we saw. And it's coming in June?!?!

By the way the intent is to release an “Aircraft Framework” in with DF at some point. But I’m still making daily simulation adjustments to both vehicle types and people get pretty mad when I update Dabs Framework too often. The Cessna will be a separate mod and creators will soon be able to publish their own airplane types with realistic physics. I just need some extra time to make things work like you’d expect them to without bothering 90% of the community who doesn’t really care about airplanes 😚

A Streaming platform that EXCLUSIVELY caters to gamers and allows no other category of content would likely do extremely well as long as it doesn’t sell to a major corporation or allow PE to completely leverage it. It needs to be completely controlled by the owners, who need to be invested in gaming culture and esports. The main issue is they need to be able run at a loss for 5-7 years and still grow. With barrier to entry and cost going to near zero and cloud hosting getting cheaper, it’s not impossible. If anything I am surprised that major game studios themselves haven’t considered partnering on this… 🤔
