I don't think there has ever been a recorded allergy to beef though. It was messed up what he did. At the same time there is no civilization on earth, that is human, that only eats plants. I think there was one tribe that ate mostly plants, but they still occasionally had meat. Veganism is just dumb, and most adhere to it out emotional guilt. You cannot get complete proteins from plants, and often the calories you get from vegan food are carbs. Which we now know is terrible for humans in the long-term. Most modern diseases are being linked to high carb/sugar diets by researchers.

@007__Aj @docakx Sometimes we have to retest samples for different reasons, and getting exactly the same results is not the most common thing (if the test was well done, the difference will be tiny and not relevant, though).

@007__Aj @docakx They can and they do. Same with the same blood sample and same machine. It's pretty normal for a test to have a small variability so, even if the conditions of the test are the same, it can render slightly different results.

Glucometer devices aren't as precise as hospital lab machines. The ISO 15197:2013 standard dictates exactly how accurate these home glucometers must be to be sold and used safely. The main rule is simple. If your blood sugar is below 100 mg/dL, the meter reading should be no more than 15 points higher or lower than the real value (at least 95% of the time). If it's 100 or higher, the reading should be within 15% of the true number (again, 95% of readings). For example, if true blood sugar is 105, a good meter could show anywhere from about 89 to 121 and still pass. They test this using three different batches of test strips. There's also a safety check. Almost all results (99%) must be safe enough that they wouldn't cause a person to make a dangerous decision about insulin or food. This standard exists because tiny differences are normal due to how the strips work, temperature, how you use it, etc. In the video, the meters showed 100 to 111 values which are only about 10% difference and is completely normal and safe according to this standard. It's not perfect lab accuracy, but it's good enough for daily life with diabetes. *** I do not promote any companies that make these glucometers.

@LeilaYLab Yo también los saco de la carretera (a ser posible lavándome las manos ANTES o usando guantes). Mejor eso que el atropello 👍 Estos sapos los reconocerás con relativa facilidad: pupilas horizontales y ojo rojizo 😉 (imagen de wikipedia:)

En esta carretera de camino al trabajo no paro de encontrarme ranas atropelladas, pero esta parejita de hoy se salva. Estaban intentando cruzar la calle, y en un principio intenté escoltarlas, pero no podían ir muy rápido y pasaban bastantes coches.

@LeilaYLab Me parece amplexo de / Bufo spinosus /. A estos pobres sapos los atropellan con frecuencia, especialmente cuando se desplazan despacito en noches con humedad.

@DrBioblogo Me cuesta distinguir entre sapos y ranas, la verdad es que no entiendo mucho del tema. Yo sólo les hago de taxi (sé que no se debe andar manipulando animales salvajes, pero es que los atropellaban fijo).

@Corchi_98 Dos ranas y esperamos que pronto unos cuantos renacuajos. Qué bonito es el amor entre dos anfibios. Ahora sin bromas, me da muchísima pena que en esta época del año no hago más que verlas atropelladas. Yo creo que cruzan para buscar un arroyo para poner los huevos.

Al final las cogí con mucho cuidado y las dejé en el campo hacia donde estaban yendo. Sé que no se debe andar tocando animales salvajes, pero la alternativa era papilla de rana en la carretera (no os hacéis a la idea de lo lento que se movían al estar en amplexo).
