I've just been made aware of this. This is absolutely an insensitive joke. Earlier in the stream, we heard Ashley read out a username that contained the word “Nega” (short for negative) and all of us, including chat, freaked out because we misheard what was said. Once the misunderstanding was cleared, we poked fun at the absurdity of it. However, the "joke" relies on the fact that it's "teetering on racist" - which ultimately is no different than making a legitimate racist joke. I apologize for any harm this has caused, and for the fact that we ever thought it humorous to joke about in the first place. Racism is NEVER okay and we should always strive to be kind and lift each other up.

@RoboticCorey Casual audiences have gotten too used to getting easily accessible, on-demand entertainment basically for free. Anything that breaks away from that is an insult in their eyes.

Is there a reason why people get so upset when indie creators try to monetize their projects?
Like, were using it to pay our program subscriptions/teams/bills to continue making the thing you like we arent buying yachts or something.

@absygobonkerz @GooseworxMusic My thoughts exactly. As long as the filler doesn't drag on too much and the characters are fun to watch, I don't think it's a big deal. Like 1 or 2 shorter episodes of them just doing goofy stuff and interacting with each other would've been cool to see.

@GooseworxMusic I’m not saying do a ton of filler but a little more filler isnt bad. I think a lot of people have agreed TADC would’ve benefited from filler so we could spend more time with the characters so we can understand them a little more (also so you can expand on the characters more)

@Cheesymanfredo I can't really see any other indie show getting this big anytime soon tbh. Digital circus was lightning in a bottle and there really isn't any other cartoon quite like it at the moment. Hopefully I get proven wrong tho.

@Amethyst4041 Wander was also much more expressive in that episode beyond just being "happy and oblivious" the entire time. The protag in the other cartoon was literally just that the entire time. They felt like an NPC.
Plus the art style and animation in WoY are significantly better.

What made Wander and the episode this is probably based on work is that he uses his kindness to annoy enemies in a playful energetic way exposing their insecurities so he can help them grow into better people plus there's more interesting gags going on throughout compared to HID

@doggsul I really do think the sparse episodic release system was overall detrimental to the quality of the game. I totally get why he wanted to release it that way, but it lowkey feels like he didn't have much of a solid long term plan for the game outside of the lore and story

I think that Deltarune's biggest flaw is its lack of commitment toward gameplay mechanics and smaller aspects of the narrative
target mechanic abandoned, item fusion abandoned, castle town dojo neglected, not enough special ACTs, no new character skills/spells, no chapter parity

I played so much stuff on a hacked psp I bought for like 60 bucks, and that was over 10 years ago. You can just straight up play gamecube and ps2 games on most modern phones now
