Jaylen Brown is viewed as a "Jimmy Butler-like" presence for Joel Embiid and the 76ers locker room, per @TheAthletic “But Brown is a lot like Jimmy Butler was, as a player and person, in 2018, and that was the best team Embiid has been a part of. The relationship between those two will be one to watch. But just as Brown will have a chip on his shoulder, Embiid hasn’t won a title. And the clock is rapidly ticking on his career. And this is a team that could be good enough to win a title.” (nytimes.com/athletic/74431…)

🚨 BREAKING: Close Trump advisors have been informing him the likeliest cause of any “rip” in the Reflecting Pool surface came from him insisting the full motorcade drive on the fresh surface to “inspect” it before it was refilled, which he immediately denies to blame liberals.

🚨BREAKING: The drained Reflecting Pool did not reveal any slices. Instead, tire marks were visible, obvious damage from Trump’s vanity drive in a fleet of 10-ton vehicles for no reason at all. He ruined his own project, then lied and blamed the citizens who paid for it.

I wish more journalists would point out that Sen. McConnell is essentially on paid sick & medical leave. The same employment protection he has spent his career blocking other Americans from having.
CSPAN@cspan

Statement From Senator Mitch McConnell WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) released the following note to constituents regarding his hospitalization and recovery: “To my fellow Kentuckians – “When you elected me to a seventh term and made me our Commonwealth’s longest serving Senator, you did so trusting that I’d keep showing up to fight for you every day. And over the past several weeks, Elaine and I have appreciated both your well wishes and your honest questions about what was keeping me away from the Senate. “You all know how folks of my generation often hesitate to share the vulnerability that comes with growing older. Even in the public eye, I feel that same instinct – I can’t help it. “But at the same time, I’ve had more than my share of experience with physical vulnerabilities. Surviving childhood polio meant spending my entire life with mobility challenges. They haven’t exactly gotten easier to manage with age. And last month, I took a fall which landed me in the hospital. “My doctors have confirmed that I didn’t break any bones or suffer a concussion. I didn’t have a heart attack or a stroke. I don’t have any tumors or hemorrhages. But I was briefly unconscious and was taken to the hospital. While receiving excellent care over the past several weeks, I’ve also had to deal with a mild case of pneumonia. “I can assure you that I’ve been a good patient. At my age, I tend to do what my doctors tell me to do. I’ve submitted to every test they can think of to help figure out what caused this incident. And I’m continuing to do everything they ask to speed my recovery. In fact, with signs of continued progress, I’ve been able to move from hospital care to a rehabilitation center where I’ll keep regaining my strength. “As much as it frustrates me, this process takes time. And on the advice of my doctors, I won’t be able to return to the Senate floor to vote quite yet. But rest assured that, in the meantime, I’m not taking a break from the Senate business that matters to you. I’ve been working closely with my legislative staff on current issues, and with my Kentucky team who help me provide timely constituent services across our Commonwealth. I’ve also been keeping in touch with my Senate colleagues on the appropriations process, midterm politics, and everything in between. “You’re right to expect your representatives to work hard for you. And part of my decision to retire at the end of my term this coming January was being honest about the demands of Senate work. But I still have unfinished business to complete on your behalf, and I have every intention of finishing the job you elected me to do. “I’ll keep working hard to get back on the Senate floor as soon as possible. And I’ll keep you posted on the progress of my recovery. Until then, I’m so grateful for your prayers and well wishes.” ### From the Office of the Attending Physician: “Senator McConnell has experienced several falls throughout the year that have been attributed to his post-polio condition. He was admitted to the hospital four weeks ago after falling at home and sustaining minor injuries. “A comprehensive evaluation by a multidisciplinary team determined that he had no fractures, cardiac abnormalities, stroke, tumor, or hemorrhage. Early in his hospitalization, he developed pneumonia, which responded rapidly to antibiotic treatment. “The remainder of his hospital stay focused on physical therapy and strategies to reduce his risk of future falls. He has been medically cleared to continue fully participating in his intensive physical therapy program.”

When it happens, please remember that those of us who published lengthy books about January 6 explicitly said that month—and every month after—that the Insurrection never ended and Trump would eventually move to end our democracy permanently. We've been saying it for five years.

The same "Never Comply" crowd that won't change their thermostat, wear a mask, or use a paper straw turns into "comply or die" the second masked federal agents start gunning down people on American streets. Don't let them gaslight you into thinking they stand for liberty.

Trump wants to charge a 20% toll for all cargo passing thru Strait of Hormuz, he just reneged on a deal with Canada and is taking 50% of tolls on a bridge. He shook down most of Europe & Asia with tariffs last year, how long is the world gonna let this greasy mook play mob boss?

Nicole Wallace ☠️☠️☠️ "Riddle me this: when Obama ran intelligence, the election was secure and Donald Trump won in 2016. When Biden ran the government and the intelligence, the election was secure and Trump ran in 2024. But when Donald Trump and all of his boobs were running US national security, it got all effed up. Is that the theory?"

“No country is allowed to charge tolls or fees on an international waterway.” “We believe international waterways should be free of tolls.” That’s what Rubio and Vance said just last month. Now Trump is imposing a 20% toll on the Strait. Will they stand up for what they said?
Aaron Rupar@atrupar

Trump: "The U.S.A. will be, from this point forward, known as 'THE GUARDIAN OF THE HORMUZ STRAIT,' but as such, and as a matter of FAIRNESS, will be reimbursed, at the rate of 20% on all cargo shipped, for any and all costs necessary to do the job of providing safety and security to this very volatile section of the World. The process and formation will begin immediately."
