I dont really take notice of the schoolboy rugby rankings in SA but just looking at these ones (before this weekend) the top 3 schools are co-educational. Not seen this before.

@BdeBliksem @adrian_slabbert Oh please, get over yourself. The ref did not determine the outcome of the game. Take it on the chin and move on. Paul Roos is an amazing school, one game does not define them. Sometimes you just need to congratulate the other team who was that little bit better and more hungry

@adrian_slabbert Stellenberg and a ref who don’t have the capability to blow high speed paced rugby. Oh well, PRG did well with 13/14 guys on the field. Even the supersport schools commentators where flabbergasted. Play tomorrow and the score would be 30-10 paul roos

@UtianG @LPTwentyNine Sad. An outcome determined by a ref not the players. This is not the usual the ref was agaist us moan. The ref was not at the level to referee a game with high speed high level rugby the way PRG plays.

The Interference that cost the All Blacks the World Cup. Eben Etzebeth, retreating from an offside position inside his own 22, obstructs an All Blacks’ pass with a 5-on-2 overlap with no defending fullback. Deliberately ran through the passing lane to kill the play. He was penalised. That was all. He saves two-to-four points for the Springboks in a game that finished 12-11. The punishment does not fit the crime: Offside interference like this doesn’t warrant a yellow card, but a one-handed intercept attempt from an onside position does. This is cynical cheating of the highest order. Etzebeth should have been binned right then and there. The All Blacks were robbed of a try scoring opportunity they finish 80% of the time. This play and the knock-down by Etzebeth from the France quarter-final were disguised thievery.

It’s not crazy, it’s highly logical. You can be the best loosehead prop in the world and be nowhere near the best player in the game. Five scrums a game nowadays, which is mainly held up by the tighthead, five tackles and four carries for a few metres, off after 40 minutes. It pales in comparison to the impact of other positions. It’s been that way forever.
