@isaiahrmartin @ShevrinJones Unfortunately like many of the others…she’s far too prideful and comfortable to give it up. Its disappointing how a whole generation is missing out on the opportunity to lead because these members intend to die in office. 😒

With the GREAT Frederica Wilson retiring, I really hope @ShevrinJones decides to run. I’ve seen his work for a long time and I think he’d be a dope member of Congress. Trump won’t like it, I know what. LET’S GO SHEV!

@Wraithlaw42 @lesleyabravanel This “choice” propaganda (brilliant btw) was ALWAYS there for parents. You decided where your child attended. Now the Gov is aggressively going after public schools. Schools are closing down. There is no evidence that the charter schools will magically get rid of the problems.

@Wraithlaw42 @lesleyabravanel Defunding public schools is dismantling education. Charter schools are now competing for the same funds as public schools. So yes, taking money away from something is not a solution.

As a public school parent whose children have attended Floriduh schools under the ravages of Ron DeSantis, I can attest to how abysmal the education system is here. It not only obsesses over standardized Florida tests designed to bamboozle those who do the rankings, but it muzzles and woefully underpays teachers who want to teach. The culture wars have absolutely decimated the state’s schools and private schools aren’t immune to the effects either. It’s a travesty.

@RepMikeLevin This is in lieu of the 10 million settlement that the courts allowed because Democrats illegally went after Trump in previous years. Trump agreed to give deserving J6ers this money instead

🚨 Every Republican present in the House Appropriations Committee last night voted to make THEMSELVES eligible to collect from Trump's $1.8 billion January 6th slush fund. I am not making this up. I introduced an amendment to stop Members of Congress, the President, and the Vice President from collecting a single dollar from Trump’s slush fund unless a court actually orders it. Every single Republican who cast a vote was AGAINST my amendment, making themselves eligible for settlement funds. Members of Congress, the President, and the Vice President, have no business lining their own pockets by claiming they were victims of government weaponization. Trump set up this fund, now MAGA Republicans in Congress are ensuring they all can collect from it. That is exactly the kind of self-dealing corruption the American people are sick of.

Checking in on CNN NewsNight, we have a failed Texas House Democrat candidate Isaiah Martin LAUGHING after saying, “The economy sucks. I mean just point blank period.” The cruelty is the point for Democrats. Even if you grant his premise as accurate, to laugh about the misfortune of your fellow Americans is disgraceful.

@SpeakerJohnson A little late on the April Fools joke @SpeakerJohnson. This Idiot in Chief @POTUS is the ONLY President that would void a deal already in place, get us in a costly war (with American casualties) and come out with no better off than we were before.

President Trump is the ONLY one who could have gotten Iran — the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism — to the negotiating table. We are greatly encouraged to learn a PEACE DEAL in Iran is underway — and look forward to learning more about the specifics. Under President Trump’s leadership, our nation is stronger, more respected on the global stage, and safer than ever before.

@Wraithlaw42 @lesleyabravanel I’m not interested in a Dem/Rep battle (if that is your point)..i’m accusing him of dismantling public education and pushing for these for-profit charters. And yes, that is making it worse.

@Leon_Phelp @lesleyabravanel He’s not making it worse, no more so than Newsome, Healey or any other governors. You can say RD should have done more to improve education. Fair. It’s a national trend though and Florida is still above the national average.

FLORIDA
FLORIDA@UF·
.@EDSecMcMahon is correct. DEI is discriminatory by design, antithetical to the purpose of a university, and incompatible with the pursuit of truth. The University of Florida has already acted on that conviction. In December 2025, our Board of Trustees adopted institutional neutrality and embedded an anti-DEI mandate within the presidential contract itself, ensuring that no university funds, public or private, will underwrite DEI at this institution. Dr. Stuart Bell stands with Secretary McMahon, the Board, and the people of Florida on this. He is ready to lead UF forward as a university defined by merit, rigor, and the pursuit of truth.
Secretary Linda McMahon@EDSecMcMahon

We need bold leaders to reorient higher education toward merit, truth-seeking, and academic rigor. Florida has led the fight to get discriminatory DEI out of our schools and universities. UF deserves a president who will continue to drive those reforms.

@AmericanPamia @Midwest_Zen @SenThomTillis @POTUS He dropped the case before a judge could throw it out. You can’t be both the plaintiff and defendant. The judge was going to review and give an update this week. Idiots like you are the reason he can do stupid shit. He’s not saving the government anything.

Mr. President, completely agree about having a lot of fun over these next seven months.  But nitpicking? Some of your advisors are telling you to support things like:     - Using billions of taxpayer dollars to compensate convicted felons and thugs who attacked police. (Ed Martin)    - Pushing 50-year mortgages and Elizabeth Warren's housing bill over sound conservative housing policy. (Bill Pulte)    - Using taxpayer money to transform publicly traded companies into state-owned enterprises. (Howard Lutnick)    - Firing our very best generals and not holding Putin accountable for his systematic kidnapping, rape, torture, and murder of Ukrainian civilians. (Pete Hegseth)  If opposing these things makes me a RINO, then I gladly accept that nickname.  We need Republicans to do well in November, but the stupid stuff is killing our chances!

@JSM172389 @lesleyabravanel I couldn’t agree with you more. I think mainstreaming special ed (inclusion) was one of the worst changes. But we’ve had Rep. Governors since 2000. So how are we blaming liberals for that?

@Leon_Phelp @lesleyabravanel Special Ed may sometimes not receive disciplinary consequences if their behavior is a “manifestation of their disability.” These students deserve to be in school and have opportunities, however their behaviors often impede the other students’ education.

@UF @EDSecMcMahon Hey you know that this is the university's official twitter, and not your personal account. Just thought that whoever is in charge of tweeting should be aware their job is on the line. The University of Florida I attended would not say something like this.

@850Jags @lesleyabravanel @RonDeSantis I stand by everything I said. Clearly you haven’t been in classrooms. The teachers and students still feel pressure to perform on all 3 (even the diagnostic). Whether a kid scores below or not the expectations are still that the kids will be proficient by end of year. Dumbass

@Leon_Phelp @lesleyabravanel @RonDeSantis That’s an ill informed statement. The first is a diagnostic. You’re not teaching to a test- you’re teaching based on student performance- hit the gas, coast, or brake as needed.
