Nice to see today that at least four of the Walberswick Fan-tailed Warblers have survived the recent freeze up. Fingers crossed for the remainder of the Winter.

One of two Yellow-browed Warblers with the roving tit flock along Corton disused railtrack this afternoon.

A Short-eared Owl that arrived in off the sea at Ness Point in Lowestoft this morning. Several Fieldfare, Redwing and Blackbirds were also arriving low over the sea.

15 years of faked made up monthly climate data from the Lowestoft weather station closed in 2010 has quietly been deleted by the Met Office after they got caught out and people started asking questions.

In the brief time available after work, a visit to Corton disused railtrack and field edges of the adjacent sewage works produced a Spotted Flycatcher bickering with a female Common Redstart over the best hunting spot. Two male Common Redstarts and two Song Thrushes.

At Ness Point, Lowestoft 16 medium sized bats were noted arriving in off the sea between 06:28-09:05. This one settled on the bumper of a campervan and then wriggled under the doors. Obsidentify says Nathusius' Pipistrelle with strongly migratory eastern European populations.

One of two juvenile Curlew Sandpipers at Breydon Water this evening. The other was more distant, on the north side along with a Little Stint.

Three Red-footed Falcons so far this morning at @SWTCarltonMarsh . Along the River Waveney two near Turnpike Hide and one at the far north end of Peto's Marsh

A post work twitch for the first Garganey of the year at @SWTCarltonMarsh produced an unexpected bonus in the form of a flock of five Red-footed Falcons hunting over Peto's Marsh still present at dusk to roost. The Purple Heron performed a late evening flight as well.
