I hate seeing those fake posts about tax / salary deductions cause the amounts are usually so weird.
When my salary was 280k I used to have roughly 40k deducted, there’s no way you’re getting 50k taken out of 170,000 yen every month !!!

I eat very slow in general and ended up only being able to eat 1 taco and 2 pieces of meat before everything was gone😅

@MicahSaitama From what I understood, 20man is for new applications. Renewal of PR is actually not renewal because it doesn't expire, it's just updating your PR card every 7 years.

I have to face the real possibility that things is my last year in Japan. Due to all the visa and PR changes. I don’t have a spare ¥200,000 so thirty years later it might come to a natural end. Arse.

Japan will pause accepting new foreign workers in the restaurant sector as the visa cap nears its limit.
Under the Specified Skilled Worker program, more than 800,000 foreign workers are expected to enter 19 industries by March 2029, with limits set for each sector. Officials say the restaurant category is nearing its cap of 50,000 workers, and the government will pause issuing entry documents starting tomorrow as a result.
In response, major restaurant chain operator Skylark Holdings has suspended plans to offer full-time positions to more than 30 foreign students currently working part-time.

One thing going largely unnoticed is that Japan has already been quietly allowing "chain migration"of immigrant families.
Japan's (SSW) type 2 visa category effectively allows for de facto permanent residency (no limit on renewals) along with the right to bring family members in Japan.
I see many Vietnamese now in Japan with families and young kids. There are also now record numbers of babies in Japan born to foreign parents.

I fully understand why people get angry at people that act like this in Japan. What they are doing is very disrespectful. However, the comments on this connect it with immigration policies do little to none to tourists / temporary visitor visa. It only attacks long term residents

One thing Android does very well is the circle to search translate screen. Living in Japan, this has always been a great feature. If iPhone adds this natively, it would be amazing

@HakataQueen MyNumber sometimes acts like this too depending on what service you're trying to access. The supposedly all in one card / most convenient system they are boasting about. I wonder if someone is manually opening/closing the servers so you can't access it outside office hours. 😂

I love that my Japanese bank has an online system and app where I can apply for various procedures (such as change of address in my case) but it only works between 8:00-21:00, absolutely beautiful

I just wanted to share that I’m 18 years old. I turned 18 last month, and I was 16 when I first started posting on this account. I am attending a High School in Japan.
Over time, a lot of people have mistaken me for someone in their late 20s or even 30s. I think that probably comes from the topics I write about and the way I present my thoughts, so I decided it would be better to make my age clear. That said, I still plan to continue my activities here as usual, and I hope to keep contributing!
