I truly believe social media broke us as a species. Dinosaurs had the asteroid—we have the algorithm.

"Lil series: I fart in your general direction!" 🐸🔊 @GreenFrogLabs

I get so exhausted by this rumor that Zak B had paranormal shows canceled because a - that’s not how TV works and it’s just plain wrong. And b - it cheapens all the work and heart people put into these shows. And it glosses over the real reason your favorite para shows aren’t being made, a reason you should be MUCH more concerned about - because it doesn’t just affect us. It all comes down to people high up in offices who have zero love for what we do, deciding that - regardless of ratings or fandom - these smaller reality shows were not an expense they were willing to shoulder anymore. This is not just the paranormal genre. Crew members, editors, etc across the entire reality TV industry are facing unprecedented unemployment levels. Entire production companies have closed. The jobs aren’t there because networks and streaming platforms don’t see the value in reality tv anymore, (with the exception of a few big name productions.) What can you do? Support your favorites in their independent projects and productions. That’s it. No amount of crying to networks will change a thing. But please, stop suggesting one person took everything we loved and worked years for and shut it down. Because he didn’t. (and I’m not saying this to defend Zak, I’m saying this to defend ourselves and to educate you.) This is industry wide - not just para tv - and thousands of people are struggling and have lost their jobs and livelihoods. If you want to spread gossip, so be it - but I’m done entertaining this nonsense when it spits in the face of so many people I love and respect.
