In 10 years time I won't have to get up at 8am on a Sunday morning I won't have to wash muddy sports kits or make sure both boots are in the bag or that we have water bottles and and shin pads, I won't be needed as the worlds proudest cheerleader for 2 hours plus every weekend. That time will pass in a heartbeat just like the last 10 years have and in no time my weekends will be my own again Until that day comes I am happy to give up any amount of my time and I fully intend to be the constant cheerleader, kit manager, chauffeur, water carrier and the biggest supporter on the sideline - whether they like that or not 🤣 For the parents with the wet feet and windswept hair who are on the touchline come rain or shine or flipping snow cheers from me 🥂☔️❄️☀️ Kelly Holroyd

“The decision to cancel a Game” It’s easy to criticise the decision to cancel a game, but before you do just take a second to think what has gone into making that decision first. 1) Is it safe for everyone and is the forecast safe? 2) Is it currently playable and what is the forecast? 3) Is there a weather warning in place now or whilst the games are on? 4) Will the pitch drain water or thaw frost in time? 5) What’s the temperature forecast now, overnight and during the game? 6) What time is KO and how far are the opposition travelling from? 7) If it’s a central venue, thousands of people will be affected, is an earlier decision better? Sometimes the decision to cancel is made at the last minute if a belief that the game can be playable will be made, other times an early decision will be made. All decisions are made with the available information at the time and the available upto date weather forecasts. Often the decision is right, sometimes the decision can “in hindsight” be wrong due to many factors such as drainage, temperature, wind etc but always the decision is made in good faith. Many times we’ve personally made this decision and know it’s not an exact science at times, so a little shoutout of support from teamgrassroots to those with the decision on their shoulders and who will quite often be up late and up early doing last minute checks and obsessively checking weather forecasts. Well done to the young people from Our Lady’s. Sport for social change is a powerful thing and it’s great to see you all grasping it so early in life. Was a real pleasure to support the project.

Letham Community Sports Club holds an invaluable place in the community, and will be particularly important for all our mental AND physical health in the post Covid recovery. I will be supporting Jon and the team in their quest for better facilities.

Always a pleasure having our friends @ArbroathFC at the Acres. Soccer Saturday this week will have an interview with the ever entertaining Dick Campbell filmed at seven acres before training. Guaranteed to be a great watch.
