Instead of doing work last night, I sat on my couch for 3 hours after the kids went to bed and started and finished a new book. This will piss me off today when I want to leave work early and have a mountain of shit to deal with but it was nice in the moment.

@laurieeconnors LOL I just recently threw my "portfolio" away. I was so cute with my plastic sheets, color coordination and table of contents. Also with my ambition.

When I applied for my first post-grad job I had a hard bound portfolio of writing clips I would bring on interviews. How ancient am I? Just asked a candidate to send me writing samples and he was like they’re all on my website. K cool. I had photocopies. I’ll see myself out.

The shit storm of my day began at 550, when I left my house for the gym and discovered (in the dark) a new beehive had formed next to my front porch. It has not gotten better since.

I’ll never forget the way the linemen worked tirelessly after #HurricaneIan to restore our power. Seeing them driving in convoys back to Florida to be here for #Idalia is so emotional. These people are actual heroes: Buy them meals, say thank you, offer them water.
