Underrated Actress #1

The biggest victim of 'lack of visibility' in Hollywood might be Imogen Poots.
Not because she lacks talent.
Not because she lacks range.
But because the industry never seemed interested in making her a star.
Watch Green Room.
Watch The Father.
Watch some of her independent films.
Then tell me she doesn't have the acting ability to headline much bigger projects.
What's fascinating is that many actresses with weaker filmographies have enjoyed far more recognition, bigger opportunities and stronger fan followings.
Meanwhile, Imogen Poots kept delivering quality work without making much noise.
No major PR machine.
Very little social media presence for years. (Become active on Instagram since last few years)
No constant headlines.
Some actors have great PR.
Some actors have great opportunities.
Some actors have both.
Imogen Poots seems to have had neither.
Maybe that's why she remains one of the most overlooked actresses of her generation.
I still hope the industry gives her the platform she deserves before it's too late.

Shekhar Home (Season 1 - 2024): The biggest victory of this show is Kay Kay Menon.
Yes, it's inspired by Sherlock Holmes, and you'll notice the influence throughout. But Kay Kay brings his own charm and presence, making the character feel fresh.
The supporting cast, especially Ranvir Shorey, Kaushik and Rasika Dugal, does a fantastic job.
The show remains engaging throughout, but I wish the mysteries were more challenging. In many episodes, the resolution arrives just when you are beginning to piece things together yourself.
Still, a solid watch and a promising start.

Deadpool & Wolverine (2024): I’ll probably get some hate for this, but what exactly were they trying to show in this movie?
The movie keeps throwing unnecessary action, jokes, references and cameos at the audience, hoping something sticks. The problem is that none of it is backed by a compelling story.
Most fight scenes feel repetitive because the outcome is obvious from the start. The humor works occasionally, but it becomes exhausting when every scene is trying to be funny.
And honestly, Marvel's multiverse saga has completely lost me at this point.
The only thing that genuinely worked? Wolverine nostalgia.

@Kalshi_Film The greatest epic action film ever made? Not really.
But it's definitely one of those movies that does almost everything right and remains a thoroughly enjoyable watch.

A genuine cinema question 👀 ➡️ Troy gave us iconic characters ➡️ Memorable battles ➡️ A legendary cast ➡️ Endless rewatch value Now The Odyssey is on the horizon. Do you think it can surpass Troy's aura, or will Troy remain the benchmark for epic Greek adaptations?

Sound of Metal (2019): The biggest reason to watch this film is Riz Ahmed.
What a performance. Raw, vulnerable, and incredibly convincing. I'm still surprised he isn't talked about more for this role.
The film itself didn't completely work for me. At times, it felt unsure whether it wanted to focus on hearing loss or addiction recovery. Olivia Cooke's character plays an important role, but her story never feels fully explored.
P.S. People who have experienced hearing loss may connect with this story on a much deeper level than the average viewer.
