@Dez86332064 Your best bet for the curly bums etc will be evenings through till mid Sept. After that the fish start thinking about spawning and its back to shuggies and sparklers at the burn mouths. Best period overall is mid May to mid June.

@Dez86332064 They will go for the cinnamon sedges, try a cinnamon and gold or a light coloured tying of a chocolate drop. Your best shout this time of year for the dries is if you get a hatch of curly bums. Yellow owl emergers and light coloured grunters will do it. It can be frightening.

@Dez86332064 Likewise, prefer not to fish with sinking lines. Most cast like shit and all of them make an absolute fucking row hitting the water, needs must sometimes. Leven fish are weird about sedges, in all my years I've never seen the fish here even look at the silver horned sedge hatch.

@Dez86332064 Last few weeks the days have been dire but in the evenings, after about 7:30 there has been a proper rise. Intermediate line with dabblers, snatchers, kates etc. Its almost like the old days again.
