People’s perceptions of you are different depending on how you present yourself. The thing is, you’re probably not thinking about how other people of perceiving you every moment of your life. There is nothing wrong with it - it is just the way of life. Typically you don’t talk to strangers anyways and when you do, the interaction is so short that your focus might be on answering the person’s question. However, when you get to know someone, they might be really cool.

My assumption was that every business owner is passionate and customer focused, but it just hit me that some businesses are just there to make money. Sometimes it can be hard to tell what kind of business you just walked into unless you get to know the owner.

My thoughts on Woot > they removed the search option so you make you look through each page and you end up buying more > they have great deals, so why not check out the site if you only buy what you need > it’s pretty fun to check out from time to time, but it is time-consuming

I’m not sure how economical this is for restaurants, but here are some trends that I’ve noticed: > Some quick-service restaurants/cafes on InKind purposely have customers type in a receipt number onto the InKind app while standing right in front of the cashier. It's an awkward process that disincentivizes people from using the app at all at those establishments. Those restaurants are just using InKind for marketing and don’t actually want you to use InKind > The number of restaurants on InKind has been increasing. This might be due to a $1,000 referral bonus that is given to restaurants that refer other restaurants onto the app

How InKind works for customers > After creating an account, you can explore all the restaurants that accept InKind > There are 2 ways of paying using the InKind app 1. At the Table/Counter - Input the check number from your physical bill into the app to settle up using your credits, coupons, and linked credit card 2. Order Ahead - Some restaurants allow in-app takeout orders. This is the most seamless way to stack coupons and credits without the hassle.

Deep Dive into the inKind App🧵 I've had the inKind app on my mind lately. It offers massive coupons and 20% back on restaurant bills. I’ve been wondering how they afford this, so I decided to look into it. The Business Logic > Credit Flipping - InKind purchases dining credits from restaurants at a deep discount upfront. This spread is how they can offer you a consistent 20% back while still making a profit. > The Expiration Catch - Rewards earned via dining expire after 2 months of inactivity. Since not every restaurant is on the app, it’s easy to forget your balance exists, which is exactly what they count on.

Starbucks went through a slump for a while but recent changes are bringing Starbucks back! Here are some changes I’ve noticed: > New drinks - Starbucks’ new drinks are actually fun and give more people something to look forward to. Whether you’re into matcha or something more energizing, Starbucks has something for everyone (try the Ube Coconut Shaken Espresso. It is honestly so good). The new drink combos are actually unique and delicious > Better rewards program - Stars no longer expire. It actually incentivizes people to choose Starbucks over a different coffee shop because people don’t feel like the Stars from their purchase might go to waste if they don’t spend it > Scheduling orders - Some Starbucks locations allow you to schedule orders now, which is so convenient and makes the drink taste better. Need I say more… > Extra benefits - Depending on the rewards tier you’re in, which is determined by how much you’ve purchased, you can get free drink modifications on certain days or more importantly, extra time to redeem your birthday reward! (No need to kick yourself when you forget to visit Starbucks on your birthday anymore) An improvement Starbucks can make > Add an option to create a group order - group orders are commonly used for large corporate teams, and the easier it is to place an order, the more likely teams will order from the establishment
