After successful years of building a culture of T&L in my current post, I am actively looking for a new challenge from January 1st.
The new challenges could involve:
- Assistant/Dep Head
- Trust Lead/Director of T&L / PD
- Teaching Hub/Research School roles

@adamboxer1 Arguably, if you are T&L lead and you aren't (already) one of the best teachers in the school, you are undermining yourself and making it even more of a challenge - you probably weren't ready for the role!

When first starting as a T&L lead your 3 urgent priorities are
1. Observe lots of lessons
2. Become one of the best teachers in the school
3. Hold back from making loads of changes until 1 and 2 are done

@JessicaKulynych @adamboxer1 Jessica, I'd love to know your background in teaching - from my experience, Adam has read it fairly accurately - and regardless, the actions he has taken are 100% the right ones - they minimise the impact on learning for the other 28 students and enable space for decision making.

@adamboxer1 Oh my goodness, just based on this short description you have read a lot into Simon's behavior. The assumption that Simon is trying to "seize control" and "actively undermine you," seems to say more about the teacher than it does about Simon. Not the only possible interpretation

Ok, so here's some of my commentary:
Two key problems here. First, is that Simon is trying to "seize control" of the lesson. He is actively trying to undermine you as a teacher. The class is watching on, and what you do next isn't just about Simon, it's about them.

@Headteacherchat Take a policy based approach, with a focus of the staff individual owning the output, combined with a focus on DP through a DPIA and an exemplar based CPD course. Happy to help guide if there is a specific want.

@Headteacherchat In the schools I work with, the TLR and SEND points are pro-rata values; I can't recall seeing any in Norfolk that haven't been.

@mitchellh I reckon Siri was a situation within Apple that started as a "build it and they will come", had zero direction, was too top heavy for a reactive swing on direction, and ended up as the tech equivalence of HR, where dreams go to die.

It is not pancake day. It’s Shrove Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday. Significant dates in the Christian calendar.
It’ll be Turkey day & Egg day next. I have no problem with people piggybacking on the festivals, but please respect us by calling them by their name.

Have been looking at houses and am weirded out by 2 apparently common trends:
1. A downstairs toilet that has no sink - just a tiny room with a toilet.
2. En-suites that have a shower and sink but no toilet.
