@NHL_Watcher In some ways, too, the cap undermines parity. It’s way more punishing with the cap if u make bad draft picks or give a bad long term contract. This gives the best run teams a huge advantage. It’s “fair” in the sense every1 plays by the same rules, but fair =\ parity.
English

@NHL_Watcher Thats cuz the real purpose of the cap is to give owners cost certainty and drive down player salary. Parity is just a side effect. If parity was the point u would think they would do something abt tax free states, cap loopholes, and the 9 million NMC’s gms give out every summer

@MikeBartner And with the 31st pick of the 2026 NHL Draft the New York Islanders select…. Brayden Schenn of the St Louis Blues

@SportingLogical Bro rlly said “1 team passed on Harper” and conveniently left out the largest reason that they are a contender and fox came to the spurs.
English

They Spurs are great and their front office has done a good job
But you can’t just pretend that luck isn’t a huge reason why they got so good so quickly
Both things can be true
Spurs Culture@SpursCulture
1 team passed on Harper 3 teams passed on Castle 10 teams passed on Vassell 12 teams passed on Bryant 28 teams passed on Keldon Kings had 8 years to give Fox a team Champagnie was undrafted Kornet was a free agent Kings didn't want Harrison Barnes

@JeriTsaiNets Sean marks hasnt had enough of a history picking in lottery to know what he’s gonna do at all, especially after he drafted egor early last year
English

Should be Darius Acuff but if we know Sean Marks drafting history as far as the type of guards he likes big guards minimum of 6'6 height.
But I believe at 6 you take BPA but he won't just like how he drafted Egor at 8th when some boards had him at 14th #Netsworld

Billy Reinhardt@BillyReinhardt
As of May 12, who do you want for the Nets if they stick at 6? Tell me why in the comments.
English

AJ Dybantsa’s preference is reportedly to remain in Utah and get drafted by the Jazz, per @AdamFinkelstein
(h/t @Fullcourtpass )

English

@BobSacamano_5 Unless he gets fired soon (unlikely) Marks’s legacy is going to be defined by how well he drafts in the lottery now that he has picks. Tbh the trades post big 3 have been good, but they still need to realize those draft picks into good players.
English

@Terrsadly @APH00PS To be fair a dude nammed “knueppel” is torching the league beyond the arc 💀
English

@AstroboyHTX @SportingLogical Yea it was a bad idea to draft 4 guards, but none of the guards look like a lock to still be on the team in 2-3yrs (other than Demin). They should just eat the loss and take whoever they think they can develop into the best player even if its a guard
English

@LewKneeTunes @SportingLogical Well this is a very guard heavy draft and the nets already took 3 guards last draft.
English

@BobSacamano_5 We desperately need a guy with grit and aura in brooklyn

The entire conversation around the pick at 6 for the Nets and Darius Acuff Jr. especially revolves around the changing landscape of the NBA.
The NBA has become like the NFL. One way scoring guards are like RBs. Positional value isn’t there even if they’re individually the most skilled. Darius Acuff Jr. is the best individual talent after the big four but the league values two-way wings/bigs like the trenches in football.
English

@sixringsofsteeI Whats worse for the Nets is that they dont even have their pick next year, and with the new lottery odds we’re about to be a bottom 10 team and watch our pick jump up for the rockets for the second time in 4 years.
English

@thatmetschick The Mets babip overall sucks, but babip is luck and skill. It’s hard to say how good we r at “placing” balls in play, but at the least we are getting pretty unlucky (ie Bo’s babip is .070 lower than his 8yr career avg, 1/2 our lineups babip are career or near career lows)
English

Cubs are one of the teams that have talked to the Mets about acquiring Freddy Peralta, per @MLBBruceLevine.
