@Thomo_Grant Only two teams won more games than Port during Ken's time. A kick away from 2 grand finals. Most would say he got the most out of the lists he had. Probably went on two years too long at Port.

I cannot understand the rationale around his performance and his standing as an AFL coach. I must be missing something?

What constitutes a great coach? Like…..leading up to this game Chris Scott was being lauded as numero uno. Is it his record? Longmire has only won 50% of finals and 1 Premiership in 14 years. Is it consistently competing? Is it building? Is it only winning premierships? Hawks were incredible under Mitchell (coach of the year in my view), McRae was a tad off but I think he is one of the very best coaches I’ve seen. Season records are rarely emulated in September…..is that a consideration? Hinkley has had a cracking list for a long time and can’t get past Prelims….. can he coach or is he overseeing a very good list that is compromised by his leadership. My view is yes. But the answers to all of these other questions are over to you.

@Thomo_Grant I think if Port took their chances they win easily. Collingwood nailed set shots from everywhere, Port missed a lot of easy ones.

What a game from both sides. McRae is building an incredibly compelling status. Already quite possibly the most impressive coach I’ve seen. Love their brand. Their connection. Their team ethic. Awesome. I think if Port had those qualities, standards & culture they’d probably win.
