@codygoodwin Just talked about him with my son. High quality character, never backed down from a challenge. He’s Daniel Dennis, Thomas Gilman, Alex Marinelli, Michael Kemmerer, etc. Just not Tony Ramos or Cory Clark. But he wrestled with heart and represented as a Hawkeye 100%!

Drake Ayala will always be one of my all-time favorites from my time covering wrestling. Watched that dude grow up. Watched him win big matches and lose heartbreakers. Watched him run toward the fire every damn time. It was an absolute pleasure watching and covering that dude.

Iowa's Gabe Arnold beats Rutgers' Remy Cotton, 4-3, in the 197-pound blood round. He moves into the top eight and earns his first All-American honor. What a feat for Arnold, wrestling everywhere from 174 to 197. Goes back up to 197 for postseason and reaches the podium. Great!

@codygoodwin The ESPN TV coverage is just brutal. More commercial time than action, show the matches that end in tech fall or major decision and cut away from tie matches, spend time interviewing fans instead of showing matches, and it goes on an on. Basketball gets every game covered?? Grrr
