In my opinion, the biggest mistake a Jiu-Jitsu practitioner can make is quitting Jiu-Jitsu for a little while… Quitting Jiu-Jitsu is different from quitting almost any other sport because it also affects our ego. If you play tennis, for example, and you quit for a while and come back, you’ll probably just have a few bad games, and that’s okay. But in Jiu-Jitsu, you’ll get smashed by people you used to train well against. You’ll feel frustrated because your moves won’t work anymore, and there’s also a higher risk of injury because your mind still thinks your body can do things that it just can’t do anymore. So if you’re getting close to quitting Jiu-Jitsu, I ask you: don’t quit. Decrease the frequency. Train lighter.
Try a different gym.
Train at home with friends.
