Harsh IMO. He's 19 making his senior debut in a team bottom of the league in front of a tense crowd. Showed composure, linked with forwards, had confidence to step into midfield as an inverted full-back & tried to start attacks. Wasn't perfect but still developing & will improve.

I think a lot of people allowed themselves to believe that Scotland could win or draw without anything, recently, to back it up. It was just blind hope. 5-1 is horrific though. Even allowing for Germany’s brilliance, Scotland were dreadful. The senior players never showed up
