Look at the changes made to the status and frankly prestige of the ABC and it starts to make sense why they so aggressively supported this act. They pitched their involvement as a matter of survival, but it appears like the real goal was a promotion.

🇺🇦Oleksandr Usyk Promotes First Ukrainian Show Since 2021 🇺🇦 🥊 Usyk steps back into the promoter role for his third event, but the first since 2021 and the first since the war. A powerful moment as boxing returns to Ukraine, inspired by a nation that continues to live, fight and move forward 🇺🇦 Headlining the card this Saturday in Kyiv: Daniel Lapin vs Kristaps Bulmeistars and we also get to see the debut of Olympic champion / Decorated Amateur Oleksandr Khyzhniak. The real question… what kind of promoter will Usyk be? 🎤 Hearn-style hype? 💼 Warren-style operator? 🎩 Don King chaos? Or something completely his own… Let us know which version of Usyk you liked the most… . #usyk #boxinguk #ukraineboxing #daznboxing

@jhabeeb1 I already told you you were right for US but NOT FOR FRANCE. What don't you get about that ? Soccer is NOT ON PARAMOUNT IN FRANCE and costs more than boxing to follow here. What is true in the US can be not true outside. I look at both sides to judge boxing, you only at US

It is for Americans, and I’m not wrong. If you can name another sport that costs over $1,000 a year to follow and show proof, I’ll retract my statement. I’ve already explained that soccer, which generates the most revenue globally, is widely available in the U.S. on Paramount Plus for about $100 a year. You’re just arguing for the sake of arguing. I’m making valid points, but instead of acknowledging that, you keep doubling down because you want the last word.

@jhabeeb1 "It is by far the most expensive sport in the world to follow". Literally your sentence some tweets ago. In US yes no problem. Not in France where Paramount+ doesn't have any soccer broadcasting rights. We pay other stuff for that and its more than for boxing. That is just a fact

@LexaB I never said that. Again, this isn’t good faith. Your argument has already been completely debunked. Paramount Plus shows substantially more soccer than DAZN, and that soccer is available at a substantially cheaper price. You’re just arguing for the sake of arguing.

@jhabeeb1 I don't care about last word. You said boxing was the most expensive sport to follow in the world. In many places yes but not in mine. Nothing more. Have a nice day man and you can have the last word no problem. Cheers.

I don't live in your country and you don't live in mine. You keep deflecting and changing the subject. My statements are factually correct, and you haven't refuted any of them. You are arguing for the sake of arguing and just want the last word at this point. You are arguing about the Ali Act, which doesn't even exist in your country. This is a ridiculous conversation and not a good faith discussion.

@jhabeeb1 And I've never called for any boycott. I'm not naive on what those sports are. Doesn't mean you can't have opinions. The fact is you don't care fans money go more to TKO/Silver Lake than fighters. I do because I know a lot of fighters and what they live. But to each his own

@jhabeeb1 You're right on the US. Not on my market. So you're as much looking at things through your own lens than I am. America is not the only place as France is also not. But you cant dismiss soccer is more expensive in my country than boxing because it doesn't fit your narrative

You are a thousand percent wrong. You are only looking at things through your own lens. In the U.S., American football is by far the most popular sport, and most games are widely available on network TV or cable, so fans can watch a full season without paying extra beyond their standard TV or streaming package. Boxing, however, is very different. Major fights are often behind PPV, costing around $70 to $100 each, and the sport is spread across multiple platforms like DAZN, Showtime, Paramount Plus, and FITE TV. A dedicated fan buying every PPV and subscribing to all relevant streaming services could easily spend close to $1,000 per year, making football far more accessible and affordable while boxing is niche and expensive for fans who follow every fight. Paramount Plus also streams a wide range of soccer, including UEFA Champions League, Europa League, Europa Conference League, UEFA Women’s Champions League, Italy’s Serie A, the English Football League, the National Women’s Soccer League, the U.S. Open Cup, and various Concacaf and AFC international qualifiers, giving soccer fans plenty of live and on demand matches to watch. Again you're just being a contrarian. You haven't refuted any of my statements. You just keep deflecting. Your arguing just for the sake of arguing.

@jhabeeb1 I said on my podcast that Paramount was very good for US fans. But doesn't change anything for us in Europe right now. Shittier cards for same price. And you stated that boxing was the most expensive sport to follow. I just explained to you it's not the cas where I lih3.

I’m from a place where DAZN went from $9.99 a month to $45, a 350% increase. In America, Paramount+ is far cheaper and offers way more content. And don’t even get me started on PBC being on Amazon with all the PPVs. It seems like you want to be a contrarian. You’re not able to refute anything I’m saying.

@jhabeeb1 I'm from Europe where UFC is same price for way shittier matchups. I know it's difficult for Americans to get that but you're not the only place existing in the world lol. Never defended boxing prices. FYI you would pay more for all football (soccer) in France than for all boxing

The UFC eliminated traditional PPVs and moved to a streaming model that costs about $100 per year, making the sport cheaper to access. Boxing, by contrast, has done the direct opposite, making it more expensive for fans over the same period. Whether the matchups are appealing is subjective, and as a casual MMA fan I am not an authority on that. The reality is that over the past two decades, no sport has treated its fans worse than boxing. It is by far the most expensive sport in the world to follow, and that is an objective fact.

UFC has the margins to absorb missed Middle East dates, but to PFL that might be an existential threat... missed tourism/site $$ much more needed in cash tight PFL... also, 885 Capital, who teamed w Knighthead to take PFL, is Dubai based & may feel war impacts...
Robert Joyner@robnashville

@Seymour_Cup Yeah they are gonna do probably atleast 2 more big cards in middle east, maybe 2 more in Dubai or maybe 1 Dubai, 1 saudi.... then you have the 4 regional tourney dates, mostly if not all in saudi... miss out on a lot of site fee/tourism $$$ ...
