Stuart Immonen’s rendition of Ultimate Spider-Woman makes me really sad that she never got to have her own miniseries.

-so inspiring without a single word.

Ultimate Spider-Man issue 133 is one of the best Spider-Man comics ever written and it doesn’t even feature Spider-Man. It’s a brilliant tribute to the essential role that artists and colourists play in sequential storytelling and it’s perfectly shows why makes superheroes-

-and Aunt May and MJ finding out how to have Jess in their lives without just treating her as a second Peter.

Jessica and her relationship to Peter’s loved ones like Aunt May and MJ is so tragically underdeveloped because there’s so much story potential that could come from Jessica trying to form her own relationships with Peter’s loved ones-

this is banger 🔥

-and it’s immediately aftermath is and how it’s basically the 9/11 x 1000 of the Ultimate Universe.

Daredevil being killed off panel works way better than something like this normally would or should because Daredevil’s corpse just being littered amongst dozens of others and Peter not even knowing his real name really helps to sell just horrific the Ultimatum Wave-

-and enjoy it without feel like I need to read the main event as homework.

The stuff with Hulk and Spider-Man teaming up Ultimatum is what event tie ins should be in my opinion. I have never read Ultimatum passed the first two issues because of how distasteful I found it but I’m able to understand everything in this tie in perfectly-

I really wish that this could have been its own arc and led to something because Ultimate Peter was very careless with his identity and it would have felt like a very natural development for Peter’s identity to eventually go public because of how careless he was.

The Spider-Man tie ins for Ultimatum are actually really good because for the most part, they’re just about Peter doing everything he can to help people rather than forcing him to go and fight Magneto.

There's a trans woman on this app, who I'm mutuals with, she's excellent. She's lovely, she's amazing. This isn't her issue. She just looks so much like me pre-transition, I sometimes get spooked scrolling then feel guilty for having the dysphoria spike

This cliffhanger would work really well if it was setting up a storyline that was actually able to anywhere instead of just being filler to pad out the tie in for a shitty event because this feels like the beginning of the perfect conclusion for the book.

It’s amazing how he does it without you noticing at first and still keeping Peter at the centre of the book’s narrative.

It’s only just hit me that Bendis overcame his difficulty with writing solo books and incorporated his talent for writing team books in USM by basically just having like half of the Ultimate universe become Peter’s supporting cast by the end of the first volume of USM.
