@Nairametrics Deficit as how This is criminally wrong. Crude prices has surged almost 100% of budgeted projections. How then are we having a deficit?

@AsakyGRN @UniIbadan When did the level of education become this bad? A supposed Mass Communication graduate cannot communicate in very simple English.

The interviewer who interviewed Omotola Jalade Ekeinde yesterday finally states the reason why he appeared so tense and uncomposed while interviewing her yesterday. He further replies people who called him unprofessional by stating he studied Mass Communication at the university of Ibadan.

An awkward moment between an interviewer and Omotola Jalade Ekeinde as she got visibly pissed after being asked “who am I here with?” 😭😂

@cagiago_ You lost a final against City and the first thing that comes to mind is United instead of focusing on what went wrong. Explains your entire fan base and club

The most embarrassing tonight isn’t even us losing 2-0, it’s United fans who are City’s biggest local rivals celebrating as if they’ve won the Carabao Cup too, what a sad sad institution and mentally disturbed fans

What Labour is doing is reminiscent of the terrible energy policies I saw growing up in Nigeria. ❌Stupid taxes 🧾Endless bureaucracy and government interference 🏭❌ No refining capability ⛽⚠️...and now Labour are warning about rationing and fuel shortages. The UK can do better than Labour's energy insanity. The @Conservatives Cheap Power Plan explains how we can do this. It’s time to drill in the North Sea and scrap green taxes that are killing investment and driving up bills.

@EbiTams @Euphoria_Sticks Did the referee end the game? No How then are they discarding the authority of the referee to decide the outcome under IFAB 5.2 to apply Article 82 and 84. It's an absurdity of a decision by CAF. There was never a forfeit decision by the match officials.

@manlikefola_ The referee did not end the game and as such, their was no forfeit. CAF is using Article 82 and 84 to violate and undermine the authority of the referee under IFAB 5.2. The illegality CAF is trying to perpetrate is a bad precedence for football. @CAF_Online @BBCSport

@MR_GREY31 @Akwasi_Ayala @SPILAE Did the referee ruled the game abandoned or forfeit? Application of Articles 82 and 84 here is a violation of IFAB 5 as the referee didn't end the game and a result was decided. Laws are meant to be applied holistically.

@Akwasi_Ayala @SPILAE You posted a document about CAS rulings over the past year sometime ago. I read the document very well. This case is water tight for Morocco. What CAS will check is did Senegal leave the pitch. Are the sanctions applied by CAF correct. That’s it, they won’t look at procedure.

Yes Rules are Rules but even lawyers will tell you procedures are also as crucial as the rules in its application. Article 82 maybe clear here when read but how does Morocco themselves allowing Senegal back unto the pitch, the referees accepting them back officially, penalty allowed to be taken and missed and Senegal 🇸🇳 going on to win the game as recorded by the match officials affect the effective application of Art 82? BIG QUESTION 🙋‍♂️ If Art 82 was being applied as written then Senegal 🇸🇳 shouldn’t be allowed back and Morocco declared winners by the official. But what really happened and recorded by the match officials make this decision SOMEWAY
Owusu Bempah Ayala@Akwasi_Ayala

@CAF_ Appeal Board has triggered the application of Article 84 of the Regulations of the AFCON to declare 1. @FootballSenegal to have forfeited the Final Match of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 2. The result of the Match to be recorded as 3–0 in favour of the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF). Interesting 🧐

@heisfab_ This provisions will only apply if the referee ruled on a forfeit. A committee cannot re-referee a game. @CAF_Media berdict is a direct violation of IFAB 5.2 on the duties and authority of the referee.

I have just witnessed the craziest moment in African football. But let’s look at what Article 84 of the Regulations of the Africa Cup of Nations says: “The team which contravenes the provisions of articles 82 and 83 shall be eliminated for good from the competition. This team will lose its match by 3-0 unless the opponent has scored a more advantageous result at the time when the match was interrupted, in which case this score will be maintained. The Organising Committee may adopt further measures.” For further explanation, the screenshot below also contains the provisions of Articles 82 and 83. If you read them, we can all agree that Morocco has a strong case. Let’s not forget that Senegal has already been fined, as have their manager and certain players, and suspensions have been issued as well. We have established one fact so far: what the law says. Now let’s dissect the emotional aspect. I know many will talk about the treatment given to other teams, taking their towels and trying to frustrate their opponents’ goalkeepers, claiming it’s voodoo, and so on, but is that enough to overturn what the law says? The answer is no. At most, it would warrant a fine and some match bans. Another emotional aspect is favouritism. How do you prove favouritism, and what is the punishment for such a claim, if any? That’s where it gets tricky. Now let’s talk about the integrity of the competition. Many would say that changing the winner from Senegal to Morocco has ruined the reputation of the tournament, but how integral would the competition look if it cannot follow the laws made to govern it? In all, the law is not concerned with emotions. In a court of law, what governs it are rules, factual events, and evidence. In my opinion, in a dish of punishment based on facts and events, Senegal would receive the bigger penalty compared to Morocco—and what bigger punishment is there than stripping them of the title and awarding it to Morocco? It’s fair to say Morocco took a step while Senegal took a mile.

@Buchi_Laba CAF is attempting to overrule the rules of IFAB on authority and decisions of the referee. The CAS will throw the sham CAF decision away to protect the game. The referee did not rule the game forfeit hense Articel 82 and should not apply, CAF cannot re-referee a decided game

Now let’s look at the CAF rules with focus on Article 82 and 84. Following the rules, CAF are right to Strip Senegal off the AFCON Trophy and automatically make Morocco the winners. You don’t have to like it. It’s the rules.

@AsisatOshoala Honestly Asisat, their should be strong calls to boycott the competition. What this means is that decided results of any game can be changed by some people in suits several weeks after. It's a bad small for the continent just to please Morocco.
